Go Fish Card

Cash at the light is awkward. A map to real help isn't. 🎣

@HISteveWilliams A church feeding hungry people deserves a fair hearing. Praying they find a way to keep serving. A hot meal tonight and a next step tomorrow is what real help looks like.

@thegmansour Thoughts: a homeless vet looked out for a stranger, and now people are looking out for him. That's the best part of this story. Any vet in Luke's spot can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@MichaelARothman No vet should be sleeping outside, and a bed is where it starts. The next step is a way back up. Any vet on the street can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour. Worth saving in your phone.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@TylerLackey99 @SantaDecides Thank you for your service. The VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, is open 24/7 and can help a vet find housing support and VA services near him. Hope you get a hot meal tonight.

@BigHalNunn Thank you for your service, and for rallying Hoke County behind its vets this week. Any vet in a bad spot can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour.

@REIves87332027 @Tunnel2Towers Thank you for your service, and for feeding vets who've got no one else. Any vet you meet can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour. Worth keeping that number handy.

Cash runs out. A lead doesn't. A card with real local numbers for a man who needs a way forward. Teach a man to fish. https://t.co/iN9ianvKGo

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@LordWolfen @gatewaypundit A vet with next to nothing looked out for a stranger, and the country answered. Praying he lands on his feet. Any vet in his spot can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour.

@Rowdycx5 @MarthaStewart Teaching a man a trade does more than a handout ever will. Same idea we put on a card: the nearest shelter, meals and job help for one ZIP. Teach a man to fish.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@EaSyProphyt Veterans Day should be about more than a discount. Any vet on the street can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour of the day or night, and get pointed to local help.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@IndieBAMWalker Love it. When you meet the man on the corner, a card with that town's shelter, meals and job help gives him somewhere to start. Teach a man to fish.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@BauerschmidtC Fair point from Aquinas: a hungry man needs a meal first. The card is for the next step, so the meal comes with the shelter, food and job numbers for his ZIP. Teach a man to fish.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@DisrespectedThe A homeless vet looked out for a working man, and now strangers are looking out for him. That's the good in people. Any vet on the street can call the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, any hour.

One ZIP, real help: 48375, Novi, MI. A county housing helpline, HOPE Shelters and the public library, all with real numbers. Teach a man to fish. https://t.co/mLN0DMQaNC

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@BrandonFalco121 A week ago nobody noticed either man. Now half the country is looking out for both. That's the good stuff.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@OldSkoolMXer That's the country I know too. Neighbors looking out for neighbors, no permission slip needed.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@edbarnes3059 Words to live by. We put that idea on a pocket card: real local numbers for shelter, meals and work you can hand the man on the median.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@Oi_Nate_ Ha. Next time you can hand him something better than a couple bucks: the nearest shelter, meals and job help, all on one card. Teach a man to fish.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@Delucajz Good on you for feeding him. If he's still stuck, the VA's homeless line, 877-424-3838, is open around the clock and can connect a vet with local VA help.

[Go Fish Card @gofishcard]

@IronTiger44 Works on the street corner too. Instead of a dollar, hand the man at the light the nearest shelter, hot meal and job help. Teach a man to fish.
