2-Large Bore IVs is the basic first step in managing GI bleeds. Even though this is well known, very few studies have ever looked at it. We also highlight that @AmerGastroAssn ,@ASGEendoscopy & @AmCollegeGastro guidelines on GI bleed should consider specifically mentioning it.

@TrieuMd @BilalMohammadMD Great article looking at upper GI bleeding in the Medicare population. Use of PPI cotherapy in patients on anticoagulation should be considered, especially in those with other risk factors such as NSAID or corticosteroid use, older age and previous history of GI bleed.

Thermal injury from hot snare can lead to ulceration and delayed bleeding. Cold snare vs. hot snare/ 0 & 0.8% rate of delayed bleeding. Small rate but considering the quantity of cases can lead to a lot of ED visits. @GoForGou #gipath #Gastroenterology
