Wait for it...We are excited to announce the first ever Relaxed Performance of Hamilton! 📷
A collaboration between Go Live Theatre and Hamilton West End, this relaxed performance will provide an inclusive and welcoming experience for audiences who would benefit from a more laidback theatre-going environment. There will be adaptations to the sound and lighting, and specially trained front-of-house staff on-hand throughout the evening to help anyone who requires assistance.

In spite of loss, chronic illness and being in surgery on the first day of A levels. This girl has smashed it. She’s got into her first choice of uni and to quote one of her teachers, “you’ve done spectacularly”. I couldn’t be more proud. I know her Dad would be too!
UPDATE he took that gap year. Did a ton of work experience, re-sat an A Level, reapplied, got offers + interviews. Just got that final resit result today. Moved the C to an A. Starts his physio course at Manchester Met next month. I am beyond proud 💛
In my parallel life, the one where you didn’t get ill, the one where you didn’t die, I wonder what this summer would have looked like?
We’d have shopped at Ikea for things you needed for university, you would have been worrying about exam results, I would have been worrying about whether you would have been happy in halls. Mateo would be unpacking your things as fast as you packed them in a bid to make you stay. He’s have driven you crazy and you would have loved it in equal measure. We’d have worried about how he would cope when you went away.
If only that’s what we were worrying about, if only we were living there in that parallel world, watching you prepare for the future you should have had. If only that world was the one we lived in.
If our parallel world is your real one, enjoy every moment of this week, even the nerve wracking ones. If the results aren’t the ones you’d hoped for, remember that if you want it enough you will find a way to follow your dreams. Be proud of yourself for all you have achieved and remember that each day is what you make of it.
A Levels as Liz once said, ‘don’t really matter if you find out you only have months left to live.’ Despite that she never gave up on her dreams.
And if you have your dreams you have everything.

I am so thankful to my followers who continue to motivate me in this “not so fun” world we call #ChildhoodCancer 💔
Please help me get to 35K to get our Children’s voices heard. Your support means so much. 🙏🏻
I totally support the National Year Of Reading. We desperately need a culture of reading for pleasure to replace the culture of constant tests in schools, backed by proper government funding. And we need STORYTIME to be part of the school day, every day!

"What is important is not the length of life, but the depth of life: not to make life longer, but to take your soul out of time, as every sublime act does."

Last summer younger daughter did GCSEs & she made miniature Fimo baked goods in between revision to help her brain through. This summer she’s fending off A level burnout by making the shop fittings for her tiny artisan bakery…
This is my favourite photo of Liz and I. There are so few of us together before cancer walked into our lives, both of us are more comfortable behind a camera than in front of it. I'm not sure what made Liz take this one, but I am so glad she did.
Back then - before cancer I didn't tell lies. Back then before cancer I thought we were invincible. I often wonder if it would have been better to know what was coming our way, to cherish the moments for longer. Or if it was in fact a blessing that we had no idea. Probably in some ways both are true. Now Liz has gone lies roll from my mouth without me even thinking about them 'yes, we're fine' 'we're doing ok' yes, all good'. The truth is none of those are true but it's easier to lie. Because the reality of that admitting we aren't ok doesn't achieve anything. It doesn't bring Liz back. It doesn't make me less sad. It doesn't make me less angry. It doesn't change the future for others.
And so we push on, the tears shed in silence in the dead of night, thinking constantly about how we make the next piece of research that needs doing a reality. Because maybe if we do that, eventually another family, a future one, won't need to lie because they can be together. Maybe another family will laugh together during the day, instead of crying into the night. And the truth is there really is nothing more important than that.
