Malaysia memang Negara Ajaib.

2016, AG kata tiada unsur jenayah ke atas Najib 1MDB.

Tapi masih ramai yang kata Najib pencuri, kleptokrat suruh siasat diteruskan.

Buttt.... buttt.... didn’t the Pahang sultan (when he was the 16th Agong) granted huge 'discounts' on Najib’s SRC jail sentence and fine? There was even an "addendum" to let Najib serve his term at home.

I suppose after the recent remarks by the monarchs from Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Johor, the Pahang royalty needed to add his 'dua sen' on corruption too.

Najib's grave betrayal got rewarded with reduced sentence and fine? I can't understand the logic here. But then I dun understand anything royal.

1. In ex-PM Najib’s case, the court has decided, the appeals will be next heard, and there’s nothing much more to be said on that. The legal process is being carried out in the usual way.

2. But everyone feels something is off.

3. Criminal justice must be evenly handed out, the law must be equally applied. People know this isn’t happening.

4. Najib goes to jail - but those high-up in the Sabah govt, political allies of the Madani govt, caught on video taking bribes - are still free as a bird.

5. And Zahid Hamidi, chief ally of PMX - without whose support the Madani govt will fall- his corruption case was dropped - just like that. After his tough prosecutor Raja Rozela Raja Toran was mysteriously dropped as well.

6. And the MACC very quickly & publicly announced that there’s no case against a former close political aide of PMX who is now very big in the business world. How kind of them to move so rapidly to clear his name.

7. In contrast, some others are pursued relentlessly by MACC. Maybe they are guilty, maybe not. But the double standards are blatant.

8. So, I am NOT celebrating.
Because an ex-PM may be convicted, but we still do not have a fair, impartial, transparent criminal justice system that can inspire confidence among the people here and globally.

#1MDB Court sentences Najib to 15 years jail each on all four of the abuse of power charges, and five times of the total amount misappropriated.

He is also sentenced to five years jail on each of the 21 money laundering charges. All sentences to be run concurrently.

Kes ni berlaku antara 2011–2014, melibatkan pencurian RM2.2 bilion.

BR1M bermula pada 2012, dengan 4.18 juta penerima dapat RM500 (total RM2.09 bilion).

Jika RM2.2 bilion itu tidak dicuri oleh Najib, setiap penerima boleh dapat sekitar RM1026.

Tapi Najib pilih sorok duit tu.

A DAP man has floated the once-unthinkable idea of a full pardon for former premier Najib Abdul Razak, arguing that such a measure could be part of a broader “reset” aimed at discouraging court charges against political rivals.

Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming recalled that in May 2023, while speaking as a guest on the “Keluar Sekejap” podcast, he had declared that awarding Najib a full pardon would constitute a “red line” for DAP.

“More than two years on, especially after the DNAA (dismissal not amounting to an acquittal) for Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Sept 4, 2023, I am less sure of that ‘red line’,” Ong said in a Facebook post today.
