Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. - Timo Cruz/Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love
@ChaseDaniel Try the book Jade City. It is speculative fiction, in a setting resembling our world in the cold war period. It is about Asian-coded mafia families grappling for power in a small country caught in the middle between warring powers. One of my all time favorite series.
@_teeing_it_up@TheTyJager Likewise, I am confused why people resent such a thing. Not my business. But the events are not for you, nor for me, they are for the demographic. You and I can easily adopt a feeling of neutrality, just like any other promotional event, including the faith night.
@1SGjjs@bl7209481042479@TheTyJager There’s promotional nights of Fourth Wing, the Romatasy book. I have not read the book, yet don’t dislike it just because it isn’t what I read. Similarly, I do not dislike gay folk for that reason. People seem incapable of having a neutral mindset on things around them, I guess.
@onlyeatsham@Viggie_Smalls93 I think too many from that side are too reliant on pollsters and consultants when they talk. Though that is a complaint from myself, it shouldn’t stop someone from understanding policy differences and being able to vote accordingly. It’s not an excuse.
@Transition_G@aaron_heisen I wonder why DePaul isn’t spending for big time players, if they are also a non football school with revenue sharing. Or Butler, for that matter.
@logano22fortheW@GoodmanHoops Some of them, like that Baylor guy and Iowa State guy, transferred. It’s the money and opportunity at top, not the traditions and spirits of Old State. Still, good for them to benefit!
@GoodmanHoops I was always high on Meleek Thomas while he was playing. I was surprised that mock drafts didn’t have him as a first round lock. The NBA might be higher on him than analysts are, which is why he’ll probably stay in the draft. Richmond will likely return to Arkansas.
This is so embarrassing, and even more sad that people believe kids have to be “indoctrinated” to form opinions.
If a child reads, is observant and curious, and has access to current events, they’re fully capable of developing ideas on their own.
@NYyrMDt@GoodmanHoops Yep, it’s 20.5 million across all sports from the school (if they can summon the money). Everything else is boosters and sponsorships.
