Day 0 of experimenting, validating ideas, and building fast.
I’m starting and bootstrapping 1 new tiny business every 2 weeks.
No BS. Just the actual process of what I spend, what I make, what I learn, and what fails.
Everything tracked publicly here + in my Notion page in my bio (https://t.co/KiBufSYhSN)
Follow along if you like this kind of stuff.
I just had someone beg me to take a nice front load dryer for free. I finally said yes and he paid me $20 even to take it. I stripped the parts in 30min and will probably make $200 from them at least
I’ve had 4 people reach out to me from a Facebook marketplace listing saying I’ll pick up their broken appliance for free. Do that, strip the working parts, and sell them on eBay. Making money isn’t hard.
What it’s like trying to find a renter:
*tour scheduled at 11am*
*i message the day before to confirm - no answer *
*i call the morning of - answers and says they are leaving soon and will meet me there*
*arrive at property - call 3x and text bc it’s 11:15 now - no show*
Thanks for wasting me and my family’s time and not even having the decency to answer my call to say you won’t show up
@omarvvvr Ideas for a new business. Ai just pulls from the web. It can’t (yet) come up with a truly new idea. If we had Ai back when Apple invented the iPhone, Ai would never have suggested a touch screen phone
@LukaTheFounder I think there are already several that do this. Greenlight, chorebot, etc. I’m not staying don’t do it but research the competition and find your unique selling point that makes it better
@ManOfFocus_ If you could take all the problems of everyone in the world and put them in a bucket but you had to pull one back out at random. Would you do it?
@Coachbenjamin_ True but That’s also the hardest thing to overcome if those are your long time friends. Leaving behind those that no longer support the life you are trying to build. But 100% necessary if you are serious about getting to the next level
@pmitu I think the real task will be for the frontier models to find that sweet spot. With cheap Chinese models gaining way, people will just switch to that. Maybe enterprise customers only who require more security will stay with us models
@pcshipp I built a saas that helps reduce churn by finding signals across an organization of churn. Zendesk/salesforce activity, jira records, slack mentions, sentiment, etc. Eventually the goal would be to expand to more integrations. Super MVP rn
This works if they have expendable wealth and enough to live off of for the rest of their life. But I think the fear of the seniors running out of money is real too. I wonder where that line is of if I need X dollars to live off of for the rest of my life vs the rest I can give to my kids now
@Lifeinvestmoney Went to a local “real estate” meetup awhile back and the guy literally explained this blueprint. “Real wealth comes from selling a course to others” lol
@thejustinwelsh You have GOT to speak up though. Share your goals and wants and desires for your career. People desperately want to help you get there but you have to make it known what you want
@CynthiaOzumba Interview tip: if I ask you to do a short assessment in the hiring process, idc if u use ai but check the deeplinks and remove the “sourceChatGpt” string from the URL😬
