Out of the countless shows I’ve played over the last 5 years, my parents have come to two of them, and both times they left like a song or two into it, one of them being our end of tour headliner which was our first show where we actually drew a crowd ourselves
Like literally I was trying to tell him how cool Turnstile is and he was like “you know it’s the songs that matter you need to stop swearing on stage” like what is this a fucking job interview go watch tucker carlson you fucking dumbass
Whenever I tell my dad how well my band is doing there always has to be some kind of “you know the music is what matters right not the [insert thing he doesn’t like about me/image/humor]” like he can do my job better than me, the ONE thing I can positively kick his ass at
hey so this is project is officially dead, thanks to all who supported us through the years 🖤 this project has not only been a creative outlet but also a source of therapy for all of us, but all things must come to an end unfortunately.
Sorry to get kinda sad but I wish my parents understood what all of this is to me, this isn’t just some hobby that I’ve just so happened to spend every waking moment of the last 12 years focused on, this is what I’m going to do with my life, this is all that I know how to do.
It’s so cool seeing bands with parents repping their merch and even my bandmates whose parents buy our merch but even when I give my parents my merch it sits in drawers for years untouched
