I like where I'm going with this though. I'm taking inspiration from Shirley Jackson's The Lottery. The "fair" is not the fair. I have included social commentary on majority rule, normalcy, people's politics, and their allegiance to overseers.
I actually started writing. I'm modeling it after The Lottery. It's hard. Creative writing is hard. Every time I try to write a story or a book, I type, delete, type, delete. I'm just typing as I go, but I think there needs to be some prep work here.
A society where people are in line to the slaughterhouse, and rather than helping each other get off the line, people are celebrating because they're further back in line and they push the people in front of them to meet their end quicker
Ya'll... what is that short story/play/something I saw here on Twitter that is an allegory for this pandemic... About people getting infected and people are encouraging each other to get infected? I vaguely remember something about an elephant?❓
If our babies/children are missing developmental/academic markers & you refuse acknowledge a widely circulating virus that has been documented to impact physical, mental & cognitive health you’re either in denial or you’re obstinate & on the side of the overseer.
Mask up. xo

FIFA gave a peace award to Donald Trump. FIFA, as part of the so-called Board of Peace, is also involved in the Palestinian genocide. They pledged $50 million to build a stadium on Palestinian land, on top of the ruins bombed by the US and other colonizing countries.
The soccer games are "a spectacular boondoggle, one that is draining public coffers, fueling state repression, turbo-charging gentrification and displacement, and worsening an already severe water crisis—all while corporations and private investors benefit handsomely."
Inspiring piece detailing resistance to fifa & transnational networks solidarity across cities
“It’s a party for the rich. We’re seeing that echoed across all cities and all of the profit is going to go back into international war & domestic repression.”

"Mega-events like the World Cup and Olympics are covered by the Department of Homeland Security’s Special Events designations, which allow for the federal government to take over local policing."

The institutions that have been getting it wrong for 100 years continue to ignore airborne transmission because they don't want to acknowledge that they fucked up or remotely challenge our global systems which value profits over human welfare. They will never lead change.
@jiggyjayy2 Idc if I’m the last person talking about it I’ll never let anybody forget, people still dying and ending up with long term health issues cause of it
Just saw a news segment from someone who became a millionaire by working at Space❌, and I've seen similar sentiments from people working for the military industry and weapons manufacturing. So much "success" and "hard work."
People working at The Bomb Factory: "As an immigrant, I was always taught to work hard. Now that I'm a millionaire, I see that American dream come true. I got here through my hard work and dedication."
