در پی کشته‌شدن معترضان در جریان اعتراضات، ۶۰ وکیل بین‌المللی در یک نامه‌ی سرگشاده از سازمان ملل متحد خواستند که مداخله‌ای فوری انجام دهد.

نسخه‌ای از این نامه در اختیار ایران‌وایر قرا�� گرفته است. در این نامه تأکید شده که اگر یک دولت نتواند یا نخواهد از مردم خود در برابر نسل‌کشی، جنایت علیه بشریت و کشتار گسترده محافظت کند، جامعه‌ی جهانی موظف است بی‌درنگ مداخله کند.

امضاکنندگان این نامه شامل وکلایی از ایران، ایالات متحده آمریکا، کشورهای اروپایی و اوکراین هستند.

بر اساس گزارش‌ها، جمهوری اسلامی در پنج‌شنبه ۲۴ بهمن ۱۴۰۴ با قطع کامل اینترنت یک سرکوب بی‌سابقه را آغاز کرده است. هزاران معترض کشته شده‌اند و نیروهای امنیتی علیه معترضان از گلوله‌ی جنگی استفاده کرده‌اند
