@philw1982@portraitinflesh To be continued, perhaps, after our opening-day defeat to Walton & Hersham.
In the meantime, re the "right-on reverse racism" point, ponder this: why did the perpetrator's brother *immediately* tell the 999 operator that his brother had been racially attacked by a white person?
@barbedquill@portraitinflesh I had been operating on the basis that disproving the "prevailing RW narrative" wasn't the most important issue at play. My bad.
@barbedquill@portraitinflesh It doesn't read to me as if the screenshots are describing a cock-up; they seem to frame as reasonable (to varying degrees) the preconceptions, the grounds for arrest, routine handcuffing, and sarcasm ("not good but not uncommon"). And the "as an aside" line isn't relevant.
@barbedquill@portraitinflesh The issue isn't – or shouldn't be – whether medical science could've saved him, it's that an 18-year-old spent his final moments being pulled across the floor, handcuffed, arrested, and told "I don't think you have [been stabbed], mate" while pleading that he couldn't breathe.
I will forever argue that MUFC wins the play-offs if he doesn't injure his knee (celebrating that game-clinching goal vs Dorking, whilst the KSG was at Rot-Weiss Oberhausen). Alas.
All the best, Liam. That right foot! 😮💨

@EducatedLeftFt@MurdoMacleod6@meadhaze@CllrHelenTaylor You're only going to 'put it to the test' if the current Braywick proposal is overwhelmingly attractive to supporters in the first place. Maybe I'm wrong, and fans obviously haven't been privy to every detail, but I'm becoming increasingly convinced that isn't the case.
@EducatedLeftFt@MurdoMacleod6@meadhaze@CllrHelenTaylor Bearing in mind RBWM's duplicity, the fact it'll cost £2.5M to lease, that the plans will likely get watered down (if we ever get that far), and that the training ground will be built elsewhere (if at all), I think getting fans to 🗳️ for an MUFC equivalent would be a tough sell.
@MurdoMacleod6@EducatedLeftFt@meadhaze@CllrHelenTaylor My summary: Most of the councillors are anti-football, while the likes of Taylor, Hill and Douglas are hardline NIMBYs. The latter group will obstruct the football club's move to Braywick whenever (and however) they can; the former will enable them.
@BillyCove10 Agreed. I'm not having Timber for Lauren, either. Raya, one of Saliba and Gabriel (take your pick) for Toure, and Rice for Gilberto. That's it, IMO.
