By buying the golden checkmark, they are buying their way to “appeal to authority” and leveraging the cognitive fallacy of the masses. This way, they are enabled to spread potential biases in factual events and spread propaganda with ulterior motives.

@elonmusk what should we do about these concerns of the implication of the checkmarks? In one way I think they provide value, but it still opens door to misuse by larger entities
