“There’s a mother somewhere who is worried about her son, and as a father myself, that hits me in a way that’s difficult to explain.

I’ve been on the phone with Jack’s mom, trying to offer whatever comfort and reassurance I can during this incredibly difficult time. No words can completely take away a mother’s worry, but I wanted her to know that Jack is surrounded by people who genuinely care about him.

I told her that she doesn’t have to face this situation alone. We’re here for Jack, and we’re here for his family too. Our responsibility goes far beyond football. These players are our family, and when something happens to one of them, we stand together.
