@ThirdWayTweet@ProjectLincoln "No labels" ie the equivalent of "Healthy Forests Initiative" which basically allowed timber corporations to clear cut protected National Forests.
It's a RepubliCon sham.

Have to admit I’m surprised that @SpeakerJohnson wants to be in the “I cheated on my wife with a porn star” club. I guess he’s not that concerned with teaching morality to our young people after all.
BREAKING: Comedian Jon Stewart shreds the mainstream media for covering the "banal" details of Donald Trump's trial like a reality TV show — and then brutally roasts CNN's Jake Tapper.
Stewart is on fire lately...
"Seriously, are we going to follow this guy to court every f*cking day? Are you trying to make this O.J. It’s not a chase. He’s commuting," Stewart said on his show. "So the media’s first attempt, the very first attempt on the first day, at self-control failed."
Media outlets still have not learned their lesson about covering Trump. They helped him win the presidency in 2016 by giving him free, nonstop coverage. Now, they're repeating that mistake.
The only way to honestly cover Donald Trump at this point is to treat him like an insurrectionist criminal trying to assert himself as above the law. His crimes are what matter, not minor details about the case.
"Hold on. We’re getting breaking news," Stewart joked, pretending to speak to a producer through an earpiece. He then cut to footage of CNN's Jake Tapper interrupting his guest to show a photo of Trump inside the courtroom.
"I’m sorry to interrupt. Just for one second. I apologize,” Tapper said. "We’re just showing the first image of Donald Trump from inside the courtroom. It’s a still photograph that we’re showing there. Just want to make sure our viewers know what they’re looking at."
Stewart pounced—
"Yes, for our viewers who are just waking up from a 30-year coma, this is what Donald Trump has looked like every day for the past 30 years. Same outfit," said Stewart.
He then torn in CNN for its breathless analysis of courtroom sketches.
"It’s a sketch. Why would anyone analyze a sketch like it was— It’d be like looking at the Last Supper and going, ‘Why do you think Jesus looks so sad here? What do you think? It’s because of Judas?’" said Stewart.
"Look, at some point in this trial, something important and revelatory is going to happen," he went on. "But none of us are going to notice, because of the hours spent on his speculative facial ticks. If the media tries to make us feel like the most mundane bullshit is earth-shattering, we won’t believe you when it’s really interesting."
As always, well said Jon Stewart!

I have seen so many people talk about select young voters and Biden 2024 who say they won’t vote/ don’t care if Trump gets re-elected and here is the context I think a lot of people are missing.
Gen Z is a very politically unique generation. Saving Democracy is not as salient of an issue because we’ve never lived in a stable democracy. You have to think, for most of us the election we recall is 2016. Trump was the president for most of our fundamental years— and when Obama was president we grew up with our parents dealing with the recovery or the recession. We also grew up with violence like school shootings. With major global events like the “war on terror” (many of us born post 9/11) and a global pandemic for many of our high school years. On top of that, the major civil rights movements and mass protests of police brutality in 2020. Roe v Wade being overturned. We have only known instability and chaos and violence.
For older folks it is different. You recall political elections when the candidates were respectful. You know what it’s like to have a Congress pass landmark legislation unlike ever before such as the Affordable Care Act. (Not that Biden hasn’t but that the perception and makeup is different and it was happening in a chaotic era)
My overall point is— young voters need to understand that this is not a normal political system. That the chaos we’ve experienced is not normal. That the elections we’ve experienced are not normal. That we have to build a coalition to fix the obstacles standing in the way of a functioning and healthy democracy.
Just some thoughts for people who are struggling to understand why so many young people may not understand the bigger picture.
I understand, but unfortunately that is largely based in doing on the ground work in Texas and seeing the results of right wing extremists first hand. Not every young person sees that. Let’s approach them with compassion, patience, and an eagerness to understand and educate.
Statistics are meaningless when trans identified males are categorized as women.
Sports, crimes, promotions, disease; everything.
One option is put actual sex as identifier with preferred "gender" as secondary, using "sex" to participate in sports, imprison, shelter, etc.
1. Crime statistics are rendered useless if violent and sexual attacks committed by men are recorded as female crimes.
2. Activists are already clamouring for this sadistic killer to be incarcerated in a women's prison.
3. Ideologically-driven misinformation is not journalism.
@CJeannes@allenanalysis RepubliCons don't care about theocracy, they're just harvesting the votes of those who do. The ultimate goal is money and the power to make the changes to bring the money.
The Juliana v. U.S. youth plaintiffs are being attacked by @POTUS + @TheJusticeDept and need your help to go to trial and protect our rights to a livable climate. Contact the Biden Administration and tell them to LET THE YOUTH BE HEARD! https://t.co/853j5K4gOg #SaveJuliana
In my view, the key CPAC story isn’t that right-wing influencer Jack Posebiec said, “Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely.”
The story is how many Republican lawmakers are absolutely silent about it.
May I suggest the media ask every Congressional member who speaks at CPAC, and every Republican presidential candidate for that matter, the following three questions:
1) Do you reject Jack Posebiec’s comments?
2) Do you support democracy?
3) Do you respect the separation of church and state?
And don't stop asking until you get answers.
I believe journalists have a duty to uncover just how deep the threat to American democracy runs.
It’s the answers that should frighten us. Never the questions.
