After the 2026 model year, VW won't sell a manual in the US. The GTI and Golf R dropped theirs for 2025, and the Jetta GLI follows for 2027. I understand the sales math, but part of what made a GTI a GTI was being involved in the drive. Per Car and Driver. #VW

Apps aren’t optimized for a phone that’s not released yet? That’s strange. I have had 10 to 15 updates a day all week where the description says welcome Duo. Give it a month and the number will flip for sure. Devs want the phone in hand for testing. There’s only so much you can do without the physical device to test with.

The first Golf GTI (1976) was planned as a 5,000-car run to cover development costs; VW built about 462,000 by 1983. The US had to wait until 1983 for the Rabbit GTI, built in Pennsylvania with 90 hp and the golf-ball shifter. #VW #GolfGTI

Check engine light on? Every gas car sold in the US since 1996 has a standard OBD-II port. A cheap Bluetooth reader + a free phone app shows the trouble code in a minute. The code points to a cause, not always the exact part, but you'll walk into the shop informed.

The Golf GTI turns 50 this year. The US-spec 2026 GTI makes 241 hp and 273 lb-ft, and VW rates 0-60 mph at 6.0 sec. The 325 PS Edition 50 isn't coming to the US. Would you want it here? #VW #GTI
