We investigated the mechanisms behind Primary Orthostatic Tremor (POT), a rare high-frequency (13–18 Hz) tremor that occurs while standing. But why does it only appear during standing? Is the posture really essential?

Our goal was not just to document the phenomenon, but to study the dynamical mechanisms behind it—how tremor frequency and amplitude relate to force. In doing so, we uncovered a more fundamental aspect of the disorder’s physiology.

If you're working on tremor, movement disorders, or neuromechanics, we hope this work offers a new framework to think about POT—and perhaps more broadly about how force and posture interact in motor pathologies.
