@robinsonemma98 I've used BTN in the classroom before for different topics however. I will be definitely using this to represent Sustainability in my future lessons. #Sustainability#UoNTeach
@SummerHill_PS A great initiative that I will be sure to employ when I am out in the force! I'm sure the students weren't fully aware of the amount of waste they can have with lunch and recess items until then! A brilliant idea. #UoNTeach
@DeAnnaliese This is brilliant Annaliese! I'm going to use this as a scientific investigation in my lesson sequence for #Sustainability. Can't wait to try it! #UoNTeach
@EmilyRichmond98 I didn't think of this. A very interesting way to teach #Sustainability in the classroom. I'm definitely going to weave this into my lesson sequence for Sustainability. #UoNTeach
Dr Seuss' 'The Lorax' is an amazing story about the importance of #sustainability. Shedding light on the responsibility that we all share for our world. It encourages students to think critically about making sustainable choices. I will certainly read this in my class! #UoNTeach
@TeachCatt @bags2benches Thank you MrCatt, I will be sure to use this in my teaching practices and revise how I can improve my pedagogies. I have never implemented this but will give it a try! #UoNTeach
Excellent idea! The more opportunities our students have to see waste management in action, will result in them being more actively sustainable citizens in their community! #UoNTeach
We’ve had a focus on separating our rubbish this week and the response from the kids has been overwhelming. Some are now refusing to throw their rubbish in the bins outside and will wait to seperate it. A very long way to go, but we’re making progress! #sustainableclassroom
@joel_newman97 Thank you for this resource Joel...It's a goal of mine to give my students as many opportunities to reduce waste and be sustainable. Has this been effective in your teaching practices? #UoNTeach

A great read for anyone that may not believe that water impacts climate change too! Water use requires a lot of energy to extract, treat, distribute, and clean the water for use. Rain Barrels are an easy way to reuse collected rain water! #UoNTeach
RAIN BARRELS: A cheap and sustainable way to reuse water and reduce the use of already processed water! Easy to make and implement into daily life! Water your plants around the school, water the veggie garden you have at school, why not implement this at your school! #UoNTeach
Considered creating a Veggie Garden for your school? Schools like St. Joseph's Charlestown are doing this to show how simple it is to be sustainable in the world! Check this resource out for reasons for doing it and how you can too! https://t.co/enllYiKPp3 #UoNTeach
https://t.co/VWcCK5nowH Stuck on awesome incursion ideas for Sustainability in the class room? I recently read @Bunnings efforts for creating a sustainable environment further than just the business. Check the link and scroll right down to see how they are helping the community!
@stephcolbran@Bunnings Wow @stephcolbran I didn't know this! I'll be sure to rush into my local Bunnings to do this! I've heard they also have a very unique approach to being sustainable across all areas of their company. Maybe check out https://t.co/VWcCK5nowH if you want more info!
@TeachCatt This is an excellent resource @TeachCatt...thank you for this. I do believe that performing excursions like this are not only beneficial for a direct learning outcome, but they develop more sustainably - minded students that take these lessons further than the classroom!
"UNESCO aims to improve access to quality education on sustainable development at all levels and in all social contexts" - Education for Sustainable Development (UNESCO). This is an excellent aim which UNESCO have developed and one which should be replicated throughout schools!
Students of NEW LAMBTON DISTRICT OOSH have a number of great learning experiences whilst having fun. Their Sustainability room is a great place for learning about how we can put our best foot forward when it comes to the environment! Excellent implementation! #UoNTeach
@VictoriaMaryLy1@KidsMH@NMHC@happifulkids HI Victoria, I haven't used this personally, however on my second professional placement i did see a student do this. It was mainly implemented after a 'melt down' however was a great device to use when they weren't happy to talk to a human about it! #UoNTeach
Teaching culture in the classroom can be quite complex. The cultural iceberg model can be used to help students gain an understanding of the visible and less visible characteristics and values of culture (Ogay & Edelmann, 2016).#UoNTeach
