🚨 SCIENTISTS JUST SOLVED ONE OF AMMONIA’S BIGGEST PROBLEMS FOR HYDROGEN PRODUCTION.

Ammonia is one of the most promising ways to store and transport hydrogen it’s easier to handle than pure hydrogen gas.

But turning ammonia back into usable hydrogen through electrolysis has been held back by a major issue: the electrodes degrade quickly during operation.

Now, researchers have developed a clever “electrode alternating” technique that dramatically improves durability. By periodically switching the roles of the electrodes, they prevent the rapid breakdown that normally occurs during the ammonia oxidation reaction.

The result is stable, long-term hydrogen production from ammonia without the usual fast performance drop-off.

Why this matters:
• Ammonia can be produced using renewable energy and is already transported globally at scale
• This approach makes ammonia electrolysis far more practical for real-world hydrogen supply chains
• It avoids the need for expensive, exotic electrode materials by solving the durability problem through smart operation instead

The deeper implication:
Hydrogen is difficult to store and move over long distances. Ammonia solves the logistics problem beautifully but only if we can efficiently and reliably convert it back into hydrogen when and where we need it.

This electrode-alternating method is a practical engineering solution that makes that final step much more viable. It shows that sometimes the biggest advances in clean energy come not from brand-new materials, but from smarter ways of using the ones we already have.

The human species has essentially been transformed into a giant profit-generating machine for corporations.

Under capitalism, humanity exists to serve the interests of the corporation. We are all livestock; beasts of burden used to carry margin expansion forward from quarterly statement to quarterly statement. That’s why everyone’s so unhappy. We’re not living with purpose. We’re not working together to build a better world and a better future, we’re just pulling levers to turn gears to make the arrow line go up on the graph in the conference room. It’s a hollow, pointless way for people to live.

It makes our whole culture vapid and soulless.

Music is made to be as profitable as possible, which means giving it the broadest possible appeal using formulaic song structure calculated to cause a chemical response in the largest number of human brains.

Movies are designed to draw the largest possible box office revenue at the lowest possible risk to studios and investors, often by just rehashing a movie that’s already proven successful in the past or by slapping together a story about an IP with pre-existing mass appeal.

Food is made to be fast and addictive rather than nourishing.

Healthy human connection has been commodified as social media intertwines with friendships and dating apps insert themselves into the development of romantic relationships.

Human sexuality is being warped and twisted as internet porn normalizes violence and degradation for the maximum number of clicks.

Attention and engagement have been monetized, creating an information ecosystem dominated by conflict and gossip designed to appeal to our baser instincts.

Advertisement is injected into every possible corner of our waking sensory experience, with any available space where the eye might rest or the ear might listen being flooded with psychological manipulation compelling us to consume. They’ll start running commercials in our dreams the instant they have the technology to do so.

You spend eight hours at the office working to generate corporate profits, then you come home and consume products to profit other corporations. You need your beer and snacks to unwind, your streaming services and social media to distract your mind from the stress of it all, your online clothing purchase to try to feel good about yourself, and your prescription drugs to get to sleep at night. People live their entire lives like this.

And that’s those of us who are lucky enough to be living in the global north. In the global south you get wage slavery and exploitation with far more toil, far less relaxation time, and no cheap products made by impoverished workers on other continents with which to comfort yourself.

All of humanity has been roped into this mess. And for what? To make the numbers in some bank accounts increase. To get some green arrows pointing upward on the stock exchange. To enable a few billionaires to buy islands and elections.

All while destroying the biosphere we all depend on for survival.

This, we are told, is the best possible system we could possibly be living under.

I personally do not believe this is true. I personally believe we can have better. Those who benefit from this current arrangement are going to assure us it’s impossible and do everything they can to stop us from changing it, but we do have the means to reclaim the wealth, dignity and happiness that they have stolen from us.

They built this whole machine on our backs. All we need to do is stand up.

The sugar mill at Arriga has a bagasse-burning incinerator that does exactly that, so nothing needs to be invented – it’s off-the-shelf technology.

Reading the article titled “$4m boat grant fuels debate” tells us that our Labor-Liberal-National-Green/teal UNiparty are either staggeringly intellectually incompetent or that they hate humanity.

Giving $4m of taxpayers money to a tourism operator for a new Reef boat during a cost-of-living crisis and when the UNiparty is pretty sure the Reef is dying is just the Cloward-Piven 2.0 strategy – squandering our wealth for as little return as possible to collapse capitalism and introduce socialism.

Handing over that money because the boat can run on biodiesel – it can burn food as fuel - when the UNiparty is certain that climate change will leave people starving, and when the world’s poorest people are staving now, is blatantly inhumane.

Doing this when there’s no supply of food converted to fuel in the boat’s home port anyway is just piling insults on top of injuries.

Did the LNP fix “our” barely functional system enough to take 50 per cent of offenders off the street? Or was it five per cent? Or 0.05 per cent?

The fact the quantities were used and not percentages informs us that the LNP have *not* fixed the crime problem their ALP comrades created.

The article about the Australian Energy Market Operator being concerned that home batteries that are minimally subsidised by taxpayers aren’t being connected to the grid to form pointless “virtual power plants” underlines the twisted thinking that these professional ideological activists engage in.

AEMO claim that the people who pay big money for solar panels and battery systems should connect them to the grid to make up for the grid’s shortcomings that their ludicrous ideology created.

AEMO’s CEO Daniel Westerman claim that allowing the grid to take electricity stored in home systems "directs it to where it is most valuable” is correct as far as it goes because their ludicrous ideology is destroying the most valuable energy source of all – coal.

“Virtual power plants” are nothing of the sort because they don’t generate a single Watt of electricity; they only store some of what gets pushed into them, and when they’re drained they’re just useless lumps of metal and plastic.
