Honoured to have my father’s photo of a ‘reflective’ moment I had in Sikkim shared by Mr. Anand Mahindra, who constantly champions India’s potential and beauty. Our country’s beauty lies in its people & landscapes, and this recognition only strengths my passion to capture both!
“In the mountain, stillness surges up to explore its own height; in the lake, movement stands still to contemplate its own depth.”
-Tagore
Through the lens of Capt. Sumit Bhatnagar, an ex-pilot with the Indian Navy, comes this surreal vision of Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim.
Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world at an elevation of 5,430 m

@VijayKedia1@anandmahindra Travelled the entire country on our CM membership growing up. Im grateful that dad invested in yearly holidays for us at a time when family vacations weren’t mainstream. Our holidays not only exposed us to the beautiful corners of India but also created lifelong memories for us❤️
@drprashantmish6 I don’t get the hate. Been a member with ClubMahindra for over a decade now and i’ve had a really good run with them.. Travelled the entire country through one membership. My parents usually got bookings if they booked in advance. They’re going to Alibaug next weekend too.
Everyone is watching women’s cricket today. The shopkeepers are watching, the sabzi wallas are watching, men in tea stalls are watching.
It feels different this time, seeing people genuinely excited, talking about players, celebrating every shot.
For once, it doesn’t feel like women’s cricket needs defending.
It just feels like cricket.
@anandmahindra Humbled and grateful, Mr. Mahindra. Thank you for sharing dad’s photo. I had never imagined that a quiet moment of solitude at the lake would be shared this way with thousands someday! The Tagore quote is so fitting, adds chaar chaand to the picture. Thank you! :) @anandmahindra
Just watched ‘Nilgiris: A Shared Wilderness’ and I’m in awe! Huge kudos to my dear friend Sandesh Kadur and his team for bringing the Blue Mountain’s breathtaking biodiversity to the big screen. Incredible storytelling and visuals! I strongly recommend people to watch it with their children. Highly recommended for schools to take students in batches.

Nature’s brush or digital magic?
Flowing from the heart of the Baspa Hills near the Indo-Tibetan border, the Baspa River graces Chitkul, Himachal Pradesh’s unforgettable 'last inhabited village.'
Captured by Divya L Chaitanya, this mesmerizing shot seems almost unreal.
But the image is raw and untouched, reminding us that NO artist can outpaint nature’s canvas…

@anandmahindra such a gorgeous picture! the baspa valley homes some of the most gorgeous villages in himachal… would return in a heartbeat. ❤️ and Divya is a woman with an eye for beauty! the composition of this photograph is like a painting - the slithering river amidst the valleys. stunning.
Glimpses from my matchbox collection which comprises of 200+ of these colourful lil boxes from 10+ Indian states - Rajasthan, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Goa, Assam, Tamil Nadu, etc! Matchboxes have held deep aesthetic value in India, being a tiny canvas for quintessential desi imageries.
Never thought I would quote a song from something as clichéd as the musical “The Sound of Music,” but it’s what came into my head when I saw this video about the extraordinary story of Kaamya Karthikeyan.
“Climb every mountain
Search high and low
Follow every highway
Every path you know
Climb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
'Till you find your dream”
Kaamya, congratulations on your world-beating achievements. You make us proud.
But I also have to express my admiration for your parents. Because, as you so eloquently expressed, they were the ones who did not dismiss what most parents would see as a child’s impractical whim.
What we can learn from them is that the way to make a child achieve great things is not through relentless pressure, but through quietly encouraging & faciltating children’s OWN desires and ambitions ‘until they find their dream.’

Two different ways to film Mumbai, from Gully Boy and All We Imagine as Light.
Zoya Akhtar and the Cinematographer Jay Oza talked about adopting a visual principle of no-blues in their images.
Indeed when you land in Mumbai, and you see the city from the top, the ugly blue tarpaulin on rooftops is the most distinct feature of the city. It is gawdy - pair it with dirty white, and you get a true but an unaesthetic picture of Mumbai. But that did not suit the film in which Mumbai is a city of aspirations, where dreams come true. They went for the opposite of blues - yellows, oranges, and shot the outdoors in soft, warm light.
