@ErlingStu Awe, poor girl. It's amazing how changes impact them. My son left home & Wonder Pup started peeing in the house. She does it so sneakily. I asked him to come visit so she knew he can come back. It seems to have helped

@Nutmegbunny9 I was teaching my younger cousin on how to make our grandma's boiled pot pie relish, so I posted a picture in a canning group and the post was deleted because it wasn't a "real" canning recipe. My grandma's recipe was canned for decades.

We started up the smoker today & made some cinnamon rolls and an apple pie. They both turned out beautifully. Currently smoking turkey breasts to make turkey salad.

@PeggiBosquez Great grandma had a crock under her sink with bacon grease. Only area of the house with running water was the kitchen sink.

@Nutmegbunny9 My teacher in 2nd grade had a pancake day for us & she had us take turns shaking a jar of cream to make the butter. It was fun and a learning experience. I loved it so much I did that with my own kids.

@HannahWardEdu My grandpa used to buy something that was clear jelly but had shredded carrots & either shredded celery or green peppers in it. Weirdest thing I ever saw & we ate tongue & pig stomach so it had strong competition!

@HannahWardEdu I love this! Best memories were watching grandma in the kitchen making my favorite black raspberry jelly. She is why I preserve food & garden.

@HannahWardEdu Not only is having a trade helpful but it can help you save money by doing things yourself at home. We like gardening & I enjoy canning the things we grow. So we don't buy certain things at the store anymore

@Nutmegbunny9 My great grandma was PA Dutch & I know a few words. My mom learned more as a kid because the adults would speak it so the kids didn't know what they said so of course she learned it. I want to learn it so the dialect doesn't disappear from the family

@HannahWardEdu I am an avid reader, but I started going through older books Swiss Family Robinson, H. Rider Haggard adventure stories & that was when I realized how literature has changed. The flowing descriptions of simple things it was amazing!

@deaflibertarian When Alcatraz was first opened it was forbidden for the convicts to speak, from the few biographies I've read from former inmates this was the worst part of their time there. It is absolute abuse.

@Nutmegbunny9 I order maintenance items for my company. I ordered a water heater for a location & the FedEx driver dropped it off the truck & said it will be fine. It was bent along the bottom & creased on the side. Thankfully the vendor replaced it after I sent pics.

@HannahWardEdu I bought myself & and my nephew one of those. It was his favorite book. He took it on a trip & it was lost. Of course being a good aunt I gave him my copy. Anything to keep them reading!
