Delighted to start my new job at @tradegovuk!
Looking forward to unleashing Global Britain's full potential so we can create more jobs, more growth and more opportunity across the UK 💪
All those years on the BBC providing "impartial" news reports. What a shame that you now display your true colours and utter lack of professionalism. Many of us thought this about you all along.
We all know this wasn't state pensions but it was the private and company pensions that ordinary people had worked hard and paid for. But of course for a socialist it's OK to decimate the savings of people who work hard and aspire as long as it doesn't touch their own!
@NicolaSturgeon That is because, when you get away from that minority hinterland of the nationalist SNP, there is a universal view that you and your intentions are appalling.
Shame that as Chancellor he didn't follow this policy but chose to allow the excessive quantitive easing by the bank that has been significant in causing the problem we now face. The tactics of a rogue trader, create a problem and then say that only you can solve it!
Surely any claim for Compensation should be against the criminals who sold these people places on unsafe boats. But those criminals are unassailable and will never be challenged either by the law or the bereaved families. Much easier to get the innocent taxpayer to pay up.
The families of the illegals who drowned off the coast of Calais last year on their way to enter the UK illegally, have now appointed lawyers in the UK to make their compensation claims. Does this make any sense to you ?
@BBCFLauraKT Whatever people think of Boris Johnson the BBC is a public broadcaster and should remain unbiased. It has long been suspected that your resorting is extremely biased. You have now proved that.
Kemi was exceptional. A breath of fresh air, a voice for the British people rather than the narrow-minded elite, with a sincere optimistic vision for the country she loves, honest and straight talking. Kemi is the Prime Minister we need. Labour would become unelectable.
The new Conservative Leader needs to be someone with energy, clarity of vision, sound Conservative principles and the bravery to stand up for those values.
@KemiBadenoch demonstrates all of these qualities which is why I am backing her. #KB4PM
My wife is a retired nurse and for her it was a vocation in the true definition of the term. That is a calling to do something for the benefit of others. That doesn't mean that nursing is not a profession, of course it is. There should be an understanding of the language we use.
@nohandsup I don't think so, sometimes I feel that nursing isn't treated as a profession, the public/MPs see it as a vocation. It is truly a profession in its own right, we are constantly proving our competences throughout our career...
Just sat at my desk feeling emotional having read through a new pile of referrals for our next Equip programme and seen so many answer “never” to the “how often does your son see his father” question. 😢🥺
Correct and having just received the details of post April price rises from bulb electricity will cost customers 34pence/kWhour whereas gas will be 7pence/kWhour. The push for electric only heating and hot water has to be properly scheduled so that people are not destituted.
@KwasiKwarteng @davidroachcouk But we do have a very narrow electricity generating margin. ie. Electricity supply capacity is sometimes very close to the demand level…. Relying then on electricity imports (coal!). More domestic gas would tide us over until renewables-nuclear can take over from fossil fuels.
