English journalists: "Mikel Arteta and set pieces are ruining football."
Same English journalists when England rely on another set piece goal: "Thomas Tuchel perfectly exploiting the small margins. Great coaching."
If this is my life now where my team and fans get bantered for losing Champions League finals after securing a league title by 7 points then so be it. It’s a life worth living.

I’ve just walked through central London and passed a group of maybe 30 Jewish schoolchildren. They’re perhaps eight and nine years old. They’re being escorted through the city by two security personnel wearing stab proof vests. What has London become? Are we really a place where Jewish children out in a school trip need guards? It’s a tragic state of affairs.
‘Everyone hates Arsenal because they push boundaries’ just doesn’t rub.
The reason there’s so much hatred is the over focus on every facet of what people supposedly don’t like by a willing media, even if the focus is objectively petty and small minded (too much arm waving, use of the word ‘project’, standing on the edge of the technical box, over celebration, too good at set pieces)
Relentless. It trickles down. Even our own fans start getting down about it.
How can I be seeing ‘are Arsenal worthy champions’ from serious people in a record breaking year for wins? From a club with the 5th highest wage bill going up against nation states and unlimited private credit tethered to nothing. A team unbeaten in UCL and in a final. The best defensive record in the league. How are we here?
Because it’s Arsenal.
No one would dare say it about any other team.
It’s part of our history. That we might have done it the hard way shines a light on everyone else’s failings . Lap it up. We don’t care. 🔴⚪️
I still sometimes cannot believe that Gaza - a faraway conflict (that currently has a ceasefire) - is dictating how some people are voting in council elections in the UK.
99.9% of these Green and Gaza Independent candidates and voters have never been to Gaza. Most barely understand the issue. Having been there and worked on it it’s undoubtedly a depressing situation all round, and a knotty geopolitical problem - as it has been for over a century. But the idea that it should be the deciding factor in how people are voting here is absurd.
These people don’t vote based on the famine in Haiti or displacement in Myanmar. So I find it very hard to escape the conclusion their Gaza obsession is down to extremely effective propaganda and/or raw sectarianism
Hackney's Stamford Hill has the highest concentration of Ultra-Orthodox Jews in Europe.
Their new mayor is from a party that fielded a candidate who stated that "ramming a synagogue isn’t antisemitism, it’s revenge."
Hackney has over 80 synagogues. I wish all of them good luck.
What the f*** does Palestine have to do with fixing the potholes on my road? Or removing the junkies from my local park? Absolutely nothing yet here we are using it as an election tactic. I'm so sick of politicians caring about everything except the UK. Fuck off to gaza and get elected there.
