Senior Coordinator, Prevention and Response to Sexual Exploitation + Abuse, and Sexual Harassment, UN Refugee Agency (#UNHCR @Refugees). Mom, Aspiring yogi.
Last week @Refugees launched #NotOnlyMe, an interesting new way to support survivors of sexual harassment. In my final days with UNHCR, I am very proud of this important milestone in our efforts to ensure that survivors are central to the fight against sexual misconduct.
We must all join together in our efforts to tackle #SEA. Thanks to @diegonnardi for the strong collaborative work in the #Ukraine refugee response in Moldova where ending sexual misconduct is a priority.
Congratulations on your #AcademyAward win Ke Huy Quan!
With more than 100 million forcibly displaced people around the world, you’re a shining example of what refugees and forcibly displaced people can accomplish when given the opportunity.

How many Ministers take a moment to bond with #Rohingya#refugees over soccer?
@HarjitSajjan of @GAC_Corporate spent the day to hear directly from refugee women, girls, boys and men in #Bangladesh. He also met with the ultra poor women in host communities.
A true delight!
"Loss of life, loss of family members & loss of property at a scale we haven't seen in recent times"
@KellyTClements of @Refugees on the devastating scenes in #Syria where her team is delivering aid
+ How the @UN Refugee Agency is helping the 6M internally displaced #Ukrainians
Communicating on #PSEA with the people we serve must happen at the outset of an emergency response. Great to see this proactive approach by colleagues @UNHCRMozambique.
In Maputo Province, following the floods that affected over 44,000 people, UNHCR is delivering protection mainstreaming and #PSEA messaging to the affected population at various temporary shelters and centers.
Just wrapped up a few exciting days of filming for our communications campaign about a new tool UNHCR will be launching soon to support victims of sexual harassment. Stay tuned for more. #BTS
Still looking for that perfect holiday gift? Head to Payot or FNAC and pick up a copy of “Seuls en exil” the story of 3 unaccompanied refugee children in Geneva. I had the pleasure to meet with @jpk73 and Christel Moretto at a recent book signing!
Great video for Rohingya refugees to learn about protection from sexual exploitation and abuse.
This animated story explains what to do in case they face such a problem.
It is shown across distribution points and was made by the creative @bbcmediaaction@refugees partner.
Thanks to Lucky’s skillful driving we had a great trip to Nayapara refugee camp today. Lucky is one of four female drivers working @UNHCR_BGD in Cox’s Bazaar, breaking barriers and stereotypes in a typically make-dominated profession!
From @SaffronBurrows_, via @TheCircleNGO, this is an incredibly powerful film with a vital message at the start of this year's #16daysofactivism on violence against women and girls. Please watch, share, and support the vital work discussed.
Committed leadership - as demonstrated by our leadership @UNHCRSouthSudan and our UNHCT partners - is so important in our efforts to tackle sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment.
Good work is put into prevention and response of PSEA in South Sudan. Thanks yo UNHCT under the leadership of DSRSG/RC/HC Sara Nyanti. Together we can prevent such acts from happening.
The U.S. Government’s engagement principles on PSEA & SH are a welcome development in our collective efforts to tackle sexual misconduct. We @Refugees have made headway in putting these principles into practice, but much more remains to be done!
Could not have said this any better ourselves - @UN has zero tolerance for inaction in response to sexual misconduct - we aim at every stage to put survivors’ needs at the center. Prevention is best - tools & policies exist. Impact is what we seek now.

Committed leadership makes such a difference in our efforts to tackle sexual exploitation and abuse. Thoughtful conversation with @AissatNdiaye and @Kwabena_AN on working together to do so in Rwanda, where it is a top priority for both organizations. @RefugeesRwanda
@UNFPARwanda Representative @Kwabena_AN received the new UNHCR Representative, Rwanda @AissatNdiaye. They discussed strengthening their partnership in humanitarian settings and to further enhance the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in #Rwanda. @goodman_ds
Thought provoking panel discussion and exhibition of victims/survivors voices at ExCom today. We have achieved a lot in our efforts to tackle sexual misconduct but so much more remains to be done, and doing so, together with our partners, remains a top priority @Refugees
Privileged with @goodman_ds & dynamic @Refugees team with @ICVAnetwork to brief member states on serious efforts to live #ZeroTolerance for inaction to prevent & address sexual misconduct through support to survivors, culture change, local best practice & operational experience.
Thankful for strong US leadership as we work to prevent sexual exploitation/abuse of refugees & sexual harassment of staff.
Great meetings and exchanges in Washington this week with @StateDept, @USAID, the White House, Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, & @InterActionOrg.
We should all be angry! Joining @DomiqueHyde in calling for an end to the horrendous conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the many others raging around the world. And for peace! 🕊️

Sexual harassment is a human rights issue. It remains one of the most rampant, normalised and prevalent forms of violence that affects women and girls.
