I haven’t bought a disc in years, I personally prefer the convenience of digital. But taking away the option is GARBAGE
Companies can pull licenses or delist games entirely. So if you’re a collector or just like having the choice, YOU DESERVE THE OPTION TO OWN PHYSICAL MEDIA
I hate people who can’t see a problem if it doesn’t affect them.
Just because you only buy digital games doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to see why companies releasing digital ONLY going forward is a huge problem.
Bunch of dummies
Bonjour @MinistereCC

On the same day Sony told a billion gamers to embrace digital forever, it quietly showed them the catch.
Two announcements, one blog, an hour apart.
First: from January 2028, no new PlayStation game will ship on a disc, digital only.
Second, buried below: Sony is closing the online stores for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, so you will no longer be able to buy games there at all.
Read together, they are not two stories. They are the whole argument about what you actually own.
A disc is the last thing in your home a Silicon Valley company cannot reach. A PlayStation game from 1994 still works today, and the law lets you resell it, lend it, keep it forever.
That is ownership. It is protected by something called the first-sale doctrine, and it applies to physical objects. It does not apply to digital purchases. That is not Sony being cruel. That is the quiet legal truth underneath the whole shift.
Sony's own spokesperson said it plainly today. With all digital content, you are not buying the game. You are buying a personal license for non-commercial use. Not the thing. Permission to use the thing, which depends on the company's servers and goodwill. They once pulled a game called Concord two weeks after launch. Buyers got refunds, but the game itself simply vanished.
This was never really about discs versus downloads. It is about moving the largest entertainment medium on Earth from a world where you own an object the law protects, to one where you hold access the law treats as rented.
Convenient, cheaper, and easier for almost everyone. Also revocable in a way a disc never was.
The click of a disc into a console was ownership. The download is permission. Sony just showed you, in a single morning, how differently the two age.
Do you agree with what Sony did??
This just genuinely reads as "Some of you may die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make"
"AS LEADERS WE RECOGNIZE THE GAME FELL SHORT" no dude, leadership fell short.
Leadership failed the game. Leadership made awful decisions. Keep fucking reminding people and don't let them settle down into another cushy job in another company/IP/game they can fuck up.
Do. Not. Let. People. Forget. Their. Bullshit. The devs didn't deserve this. Fans didn't. Game didn't. Studio didn't.
I 100%, fully encourage and will personally be shit flinging towards the people responsible if they try to take their bag and leave to another project after causing all this. (Leadership responsible, not the devs. DO NOT HARASS THE DEVS. Help them)
This doesn't mean threats. Do NOT do that.
This just means making their name so toxic no studio will hire the people responsible back due to fears of backlash. Vocalize. Be loud.
Fuck corporate greed culture
Fuck capitalism
Fuck the absolute subhuman cretins that killed our favourite game
Long live the unmatched, incredible dev team who now have to look for work, thank you for all of your gifts and giving us the experience of a lifetime
Long live Destiny
Im not overly political on this acc but genuinely fuck off. Destiny is a story about protecting the people. About setting differences aside. About unity, inclusion, and it's queer as FUCK. So FUCK ALLLLLLLLL THE WAY OUT OF MY FANDOM, LARP HOUSE
If Bungie had invested more resources into Destiny, the game would be bigger.
If Bungie had prioritized overdelivery, more players would have returned.
If Bungie had preserved its campaigns instead of vaulting content, the story would be better.
If Bungie had supported PvP with more maps, Crucible would be thriving.
If Bungie leadership had prioritized the franchise’s long-term future, Destiny 3 would already be in development.
If Sony leadership had made smarter decisions, we wouldn’t be facing what is Destiny’s final live service chapter.
Destiny deserved more.
The fans deserved more.
The developers deserved more.
But I’m not leaving.
I’ll keep playing. I’ll keep fighting for this franchise. I’ll keep advocating for Destiny’s future.
I will stay loud. I will stay committed.
Guardians make their own fate.
#WeWantDestiny3
The first time I tried Destiny, I was 13. It was so good I got a console just to play it.
Now, in Monument of Triumph, I’m 24.
My life’s changed so much over the past 11 years, but Destiny has been a constant through almost all of it.
It’s irreplaceable.
