@HD__AFC Had to search for like an hour for this video. One of my fav moments of the season. They showed MA telling Saka on TV but this is the only one that shows him getting the news first from the security guard. Love it.
@AFC_Law@Leegend90 Things change over time. But I can def tell you their core market is not people with OLEDs and Dolby Atmos setups. Obviously there is a halfway house, but they don't think it's something their main demographic needs. (Which is a real shame!)
@Leegend90 Ironically I think losing Champs League football set them back massively. Until they are forced to, I doubt ITV will ever change (and like I said they clearly don't believe they have to either).
BBC are weird with audio. There's all sorts of bizarre issues across diff platforms.
@jeffbartrop@macstreams@scottygb I had an email exchange with someone at the BBC who said something similar. But it's so weird they remain at the forefront of pushing the best video, but a simple 5.1 stream is beyond them. I think if they cared that much about it, they would find a way to do a basic thing.
@jeffbartrop@macstreams@scottygb These convos are great, because it comes up every 2 years (around the time of a big tourno) and we realise nothing has moved on.
ITV openly state they have no interest in updating their feeds for 5.1.
BBC is a weird one. They state it's a tech limitation, but I have my doubts.
@macstreams@scottygb It's a real mish mash in terms of audio and video, with nothing giving you the optimal mix:
BBC - 4K + DD 2.0 (iPlayer)
BBC - HD + DD 5.1 (Sky, Virgin, Freeview/Aerial)
ITV - HD + DD 2.0 (Sky, Virgin, Freeview/Aerial, ITVX)
@sdedition How bizarre to have these reissues be identical to the ones from before. There's still so many remixes that need to see light of day. Not least the stupendous full length Deep Dish Remix of Wrong. Please make it happen, even digitally @tracey_thorn
@UHD4k ITV cover the remainder, and both screen the final (should be an even split though). This is a nice article:

They also have a "fake" public battle over who should screen the ENG games, with both claiming ENG have a better record on their own channel.
@UHD4k This is better:
BBC - 4K + DD 2.0 (iPlayer)
BBC - HD + DD 5.1 (Sky, Virgin, Freeview/Aerial)
ITV - HD + DD 2.0 (Sky, Virgin, Freeview/Aerial, ITVX)
Shambles really and BBC (despite chucking so much in R&D on iPlayer) can't seem to make 5.1 work online.
Feel like we used up all our luck in the League. I know Raya saved us in the Premiership, but the technique on penalties is absolutely ridiculous. He's moving before the ball's even been kicked.
@EmiSmithShowe The Mourinho method. Lock it down against the top 6, beat everyone else. (Although we lost half of those games against the top 6, but you get what I mean)
