@BloggsFpl No you definitely are within your rights to negotiate. I don’t think you should bend over and pay whatever. What I’m saying is, this thing amongst your fans acting like you’re being bullied around the transfer simply because we won’t let you have him cheap is daft.
1 You havent bid for him
2 You aren’t being bullied. You want our captain cheap who isnt for sale. Thats not you being bullied
3 You haven’t bid for him
4 You’re using all the dirty tricks to get him on the cheap. It’s you doing the bullying
5 You haven’t bid for him

One thing I've noticed about Arsenal under this current regime is that they rarely allow themselves to be bullied in the transfer market.
People forget that Arsenal wanted Moisés Caicedo badly, but the moment Brighton kept pushing the price higher than what the club believed was reasonable, they walked away.
Same thing happened with Benjamin Šeško. Arsenal admired him, but when RB Leipzig's demands became too much, they stepped back.
Same with Mykhailo Mudryk. Everyone remembers the saga. Shakhtar wanted an enormous fee, Arsenal refused to be dragged into a bidding war and Chelsea took him instead.
Even Sandro Tonali. Arsenal liked him, but once the overall cost became excessive, they moved on.
The only deal they refused to walk away from was Declan Rice. And every single day that passes makes it look like money well spent. Arsenal clearly believed he was worth breaking the bank for, and so far he's proving exactly why.
So when I see people saying Arsenal must pay whatever Newcastle ask for Bruno Guimarães or whatever Aston Villa ask for Morgan Rogers, I just don't see it happening.
If Arsenal believe the valuation isn't fair, they'll simply walk away. They've done it before and they'll do it again.
Arsenal have shown time and time again that they'll pay big when they truly believe a player is worth it. But they won't pay any price just because another club demands it. That's been their strategy for years now, and I don't see it changing this summer.
@J313197 Thats half my point. Hes our captain and a player we dont want to sell. So I don’t understand why Arsenal fans think they should get him cheap
Pay what we want or move on. Newcastle aren’t in a position where they have to sell cheap (Although I’d prefer not to hold him hostage)
@BloggsFpl I do. My issue is watching Arsenal fans say they won’t be bullied into overpaying. When no one is making them. They just want him on the cheap, hence why they’re doing what they can to make it happen. They can walk away at any time. Or pay, but we shouldn’t be doing any favours
@Wooflexis It’s more Arsenal fans acting like they won’t be bullied into overpaying. Acting as if we’re banging on their door. When in reality Arsenal won’t even bid
@arsenalpigeon There isn’t anything to make easy for us pookie, our job is to sit and wait for you to bid, you’re making it difficult for yourself. Bid or don’t bid. We’ll keep him if not
@ThatBeardedGuy9@gunrunner4lif3 Yeah, that was my original post. They’re crying about standing firm and not being bullied. But they’re sneaking around the backrooms trying to pressure us into a lower fee for a captain we don’t want to sell. I don’t understand why they’re moaning
@ThatBeardedGuy9@gunrunner4lif3 You’re right, but this rule borderline doesn’t exist anymore unfortunately. Players always seem to ‘agree terms’ before clubs are approached.
@gunrunner4lif3 Last summer we got it wrong and it’s lingered. Now the new model of signing kids, won’t go down well with the good players we have now. Hence Bruno wanting to go. But it is what it is at this point. I just hope you lot bid soon or walk away and get it over
@gunrunner4lif3 I don’t want to lose him obviously, but I’m against keeping him hostage. What’s bugging me is seeing Arsenal fans moan about being bullied, when they haven’t even bid for him. And he’s our captain who we don’t want to sell, so they shouldn’t be expecting a cheap fee
@IanARobinson No, but we also shouldn’t need to sell our captain on the cheap after selling Isak, Gordon and Tonali for a combined close to £300m all within 12 months.
If they bow down and do Arsenal a favour by selling for a lesser fee, I truly, from the bottom of my heart, hope they sell the club with it.
If he wants to go let him, but he goes for the right price. He’s too important not to. #NUFC
✍️EXPLAINED This is known as the “conditioning stage” of a negotiation. Arsenal are trying to let others, agents, transfer influencers and the player himself soften #nufc and move them into a position where they are forced to sell for the low price they are willing to pay

@zee_ems Pay what he’s worth and he can go. Yous haven’t even bid for him. Newcastle have done absolutely nothing wrong as it stands.
The problem is, top 6 clubs think they’re owed discounts when they’re not. Pay, or walk away.
