The trend of giving sonic lightning effects started with the movies and it makes his speed look more like a power than something natural

The movies are cool but it upsets me that these massive audiences are being introduced to a Sonic that isn’t Sonic

None of the traits I love about his character are well represented and he gets dumbed down to just another hyperactive speedster
