Watched Mononoke movie 1. Awesome ass horror/action with an insanely cool presentation and artstyle. Maybe the story wasn't the MOST interesting thing (rewatch may help) but the pacing and style definitely kept me interested. I'm for sure gonna watch the series and the other film
At this point I've watched every animated/movie Gantz adaptation and plan to read every spin-off. The OG manga is easily the best so far, even though I didn't dislike anything I've watched and each had their strengths and cool moments. I love Gantz ! !
Gantz is schlocky over the top sci-fi but the action is entertaining, most of the characters are actually really likeable and interesting, and I think the gross CGI aliens kinda work. The over-edginess of it might be off-putting but I think it adds to the entertainment and charm.
Finished Devil May Cry (2007) a few days ago. Pretty fun and enjoyable episodic show with likeable characters and some neat stories. Really nothing was remarkable about it but it was fun and made me want to try the games. Also Lady is awesome.
Akame Ga Kill. Definitely mid show but lots of action and *some* likeable-ish characters. The plot is only serviceable but there's a clear goal and the story actually ends. I think it's blandness and ugliness is what made it mostly boring instead of a fun engaging battle anime.
Ranking of Kings. Amazing anime, basically every character feels likeable and fleshed out, and the story was entertaining and gripping the whole way through, with some really well animated scenes. If I had to find a flaw (which is hard) I would say it can feel a bit slow at times
I'll probably re-read/watch all of csm soon to give part 2 a proper chance front to back. Sucks that this manga I considered my all-time favorite for a while ended like this, but hopefully starting from the beginning will change my take at least a little bit.
Just finished the last Chainsaw Man chapter. Worth noting that I'm quite disjointed from the story (haven't read in a few months, caught up last night). With that said, I thought that ending was absolutely god awful, genuinely one of the worst I've seen, almost comical.
Finished rewatching Samurai Champloo. Genuinely an all-timer anime. Really fun antics with incredibly lovable characters and the best soundtrack I've heard in an anime. The balance of low & high stakes mixed with the perfect vibe and setting make this a top 10 anime for me.
Watched Fuse last night. Decent movie, pretty good looking with some fun action, but with a really basic story and characters. Despite wanting to love it because I found it randomly and it has a cool setting (ancient Japan), the most charitable thing I can say is "pretty good".
Just finished OG Demon's Souls. Amazing game. Not only is it really interesting to see where souls games began, but it has incredible atmosphere, and the world and story have a ton of charm. It feels surprisingly good to control, and most of the complaints are overblown/avoidable
Hello twitter world. I'm going to try and start xeeting whenever I finish a game or an anime or whatever, saying what I think and whatnot. I think it would be nice to be able to look up what I thought about something when I finished it, and also make use of this awful website.
