You are 40, fit, eat healthy and don’t smoke. Could you still have a heart attack or stroke at 50?

▶️YES. A healthy lifestyle is powerful, but some risk factors remain hidden.

▶️Here are 10 things worth checking to assess your future risk of heart attack and stroke:

1️⃣ Blood pressure (annually)
2️⃣ Lipid profile (LDL, HDL, triglycerides): every 3–5 years if low risk
3️⃣ Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]: at least once in adulthood
4️⃣ Apolipoprotein B (if it adds useful information)
5️⃣ HbA1c or fasting glucose (about every 3 years if normal and low risk)
6️⃣ Waist circumference + BMI (annually)
7️⃣ Kidney function (creatinine/eGFR): based on risk
8️⃣ Urine albumin: if diabetes, hypertension or kidney risk is present
9️⃣ Family history of premature heart attack/stroke
🔟 Overall cardiovascular risk (reassess every 3–5 years)

Three things many people miss:
1. Normal cholesterol does not rule out high Lp(a) (as it is an inherited risk factor).
2. Being slim and physically active doesn’t eliminate cardiovascular risk.
3. A normal ECG does NOT rule out future heart attack risk.

🔸You don’t need every test every year. Choose tests based on your risk, not fear.

10 Signs Your Body Is Poorly Nourished and Asking for Help

1️⃣ Hair fall, thinning, or dull hair
Keratin needs protein. Hair is often the first to suffer when your diet lacks protein, iron, B12, or zinc.

2️⃣ Brittle nails with ridges or breakage
Low protein, biotin, and iron show up here fast. Nails need steady nourishment, not just nail polish.

3️⃣ Dry,dull or flaky skin
Healthy skin needs omega-3 fats, zinc, protein, and hydration. If your skin is tired-looking, so is your body.

4️⃣ Frequent fatigue or brain fog
Not normal. Your body may lack B12, iron, protein, or enough fuel. Food = energy, not just calories.

5️⃣ Low mood, anxiety or irritability Nutrients regulate neurotransmitters. A malnourished gut or poor blood sugar control can impact mental health deeply.

6️⃣ Muscle loss or weakness
Losing strength even if weight is stable? You may be under-proteined. Especially common in women and elders.

7️⃣ Cravings for sugar, salt, or junk food
These are not lack of willpower. Often signs of blood sugar swings, nutrient gaps, or poor satiety from low-protein meals.

8️⃣ Frequent infections or poor wound healing
Your immune system needs amino acids, zinc, vitamins A, C, D. Malnourished bodies take longer to repair.

9️⃣ Irregular or missing periods (in women)
Your reproductive system shuts down when your body feels underfed or unsafe. It’s a protective response.

🔟 Swelling, puffiness, or water retention
Low protein → poor albumin → fluid imbalance. Hidden malnutrition can cause swelling despite “eating enough.

Bottom line:
You can be eating plenty but still be under-nourished.
What matters is what’s on your plate not just how much.

 Prioritize protein
✅ Fix gut health
✅ Replenish key vitamins & minerals
✅ Balance blood sugar and hormones

Your body wants to heal.
Listen to it early and nourish it deeply.
Book mark it. Share it so that it helps someone.
