@JimBehymer (Do you know about appending &udm=14 to your search string to use the AI-free "web" search?) Also, did you discover anything that would distinguish a kathi roll from a paratha one? The latter term seems to appear on a lot of Chicago-area menus.
@JimBehymer Not that you needed another (and it's temporarily closed) but Parky's in Forest Park serves a "Bacon Cheese Dog" just a few miles north of Connie's.
@nickdk You mentioned in the first story that Vienna was (again) starting to package their natural casing dogs. Did they happen to say if those are ever going to be available in grocery stores?
@ArchiJake@chibbqk1ng What's funny about the Pequod's (depicted here) is that the way it's served in the show arguably loses its most distinct feature: the caramelized crust.
@mattzollerseitz If I'm thinking of the right one, the gratuitous padding where Columbo messes with oscilloscope graphics at length brings the episode down a half notch.
@chorizoandbeer@jesteinf Agreed re: San Francisco. We were just there and had a delightful time. (Liholiho was indeed superb.) Sure, certain areas are. . . dense with the very miserable, but that's neither unique to SF nor a recent development.
@MichaelNagrant The cilantro-heavy table salsa there over 30 years ago was the beginning of my love affair with that herb. One of my great sense memories.
@kennethaz@chorizoandbeer The real value here is a method for the dough cure, which may not have appeared anywhere but the @wordloaf newsletter. (I don't even recall the concept of the dough cure appearing online or in print until pretty recently.)
