When conceiving ideas, I did a bunch of research before building and launching my startup. There were 4 things I looked for in a target audience
- Profit-minded
- Market size of at least 100K
- Easy to target/reach
- Growing

I just learned that one new startup lead by a non technical founder wants to build their mvp on top of M$ sql server and mongodb. I don't know whether I should laugh or cry.
Love selfhosting on hetzner and not caring about my data being kept hostage. Also there's the bandwidth alliance(https://t.co/O5n0cuw4ku) which helps a lot!
Firebase's authentication endpoint is having an outage, meaning that apps that built on Firebase are simply not working (eg @excalidraw) Users just don't see their data.
It's been about 2 hours. Incidents like this degrade the perception of how reliable a cloud data store is.
Been to #ECSC2023 organized by @enisa_eu I loved the hardware challenges there. Unlike previous editions which were laced with tech and org problems this year's ECSC was (kindof) ok. This year's top hiccups:
- AD with 15% uptime
- Wrong podium due to a typo in a formula in excel
It was a crazy month in San Francisco. Meet a lot of amazing startup founders. Pivoted my startup 180 degrees. Got 2 paying customers. Will remember this trip for a long time. I'm looking forward to go back to the Bay Area.
Tailscale is just the gift that just keeps on giving. It took me 30 seconds to set up an additional subnet router on my laptop to remain connected to another LAN. Literally been playing around with vSphere on my phone while hiking in the woods.
Now with the rebrand I'm wondering whether some companies using "X" in their name (like https://t.co/XFmDrhAPII) will get a cease and desist from @elonmusk's lawyers
