Claim: Pierre Poilievre signed a bill to jail parents and allow child transitioning. FALSE.

Poilievre is Opposition Leader—he can't sign bills. That's the Governor General's job after Parliament passes them. Bill C-4 (banning conversion therapy) passed unanimously under Trudeau's Liberals in 2021. Poilievre voted yes as an MP.

The bill criminalizes forcing someone to change their sexual orientation or gender identity to cis/hetero norms—up to 5 years jail. It DOES NOT jail parents for talks, opinions, or opposing transition. It protects identity exploration, including transitions, without assuming preferences.

This lie comes from far-right Maxime Bernier to split conservative votes. Check the law yourself—don't buy the spin.
