Same age as Prince Charles (but much better looking !). UK Charity Projects Consultant, Jesus disciple, Personal Management trainer... & stuff like that
At Bible College we would do this little exercise - sit quietly & write your epitaph, the words on your headstone.....how would you like to be remembered?
Then compare your epitaph with your life as it is now....
Do you have far to go / much still to achieve?......think about it
Stuff I've learned over the years: focussing on the problem only makes it bigger - it just keeps growing & growing!....Focus instead on the Provider (the solution - Matt6:33). Problems are transient, your Provider & His provisions are eternal.
@GuyDuininck Thank you guy for your discernment, humility, & sincere & genuine love of the Lord, His word, & the leading of His Holy Spirit....... your wisdom is priceless in this time - you are anointed for this task.
Message for us all - let's stop taking ourselves so seriously!....none of us are half as clever as we think we are, & who cares anyway. Just smile & wave boys (& girls, etc), smile & wave! (Madagascar, the movie)
I heard someone on the electric wireless the other day say Van Morrison receives no royalties (as in nil /zero) from his recording of "Brown Eyed Girl".......God bless him anyway!
Someone once told me that Walt Disney pitched his original ideas for Disneyland more than 300 times to various Banks & Investors before finally getting a backer = true persistence !.....(see also Luke11:5-13)
Leaders job description = cast the vision; inspire & encourage your followers to share the passion & see the vision fulfilled. Managers job description = catch the vision, embrace the passion - then plan & deliver the work to accomplish the mission & see the vision fulfilled.....
Comfort zones are not necessarily areas of inactivity – you can be super-busy, yet still living in your comfort zone. Comfort zones are nice places to visit, but you shouldn’t want to live there – nothing of any value gets done in a comfort zone!.....
@davidjeremiah Happiness is an emotion, & like all emotions, transient & temporary. Joy is a spiritual substance (like faith), a fruit of the spirit - not of the mind, will or emotions.
Wonderful spring day in North West England – reminds me how God gave us seasons for a purpose, sowing & reaping etc., & the importance of discerning the season you’re in. Is it sowing time, growing time, or harvest?.......
Easter Thoughts: Jesus was the perfect leader – see how He; 1), Casts the vision & clarifies the mission (Mt24:14); 2), Gives clear direction to the followers (Mt28:18-20); & then 3), Demonstrates the culture & values needed to accomplish the mission (Jn13:34 & Jn13:14)…..
Leaders everywhere: your role includes responsibility for preparing your successor(s), to ensure the work goes on without disruption when you have to move on. (& with a continuity so well prepared that people won’t even notice you’ve gone!) Takes effort & above all, humility...
Is what you are doing now better than a year ago? Are you more effective, more productive, more fruitful & fulfilled? - If not, maybe it’s time to check who you are connecting with, what you are speaking over yourself, & who you’re allowing to speak into your life?.... (2Cor6:14)
If you believe you can do it, then say so & do it. If you’re not sure if you can do it (= doubt, which leads to unbelief), you probably won’t do it. And if you don’t believe you can do it, then you definitely won’t do it!..... (Mk11:22-24)
The law of unintended consequences applies just as much to what you say as what you do. “I didn’t mean it like that” = a sign that what you said resulted in an unexpected response – so if you didn’t mean it like that, why did you say it like that? (Matt12:36-37, Prov16:24)
What’s your passion? What truly motivates you? – that place where you know you are meant to be, fulfilling your purpose & adding value to your life & the lives of others. This is the place you need to be moving towards – making every day count along the way. Think about it…..
It’s so much easier to forgive others (& yourself) when you fully comprehend the significance of the forgiveness already made available (for those willing to receive it)…… (Mk11:25-26, Matt6:12)
The huge weeping willow on the pathway next to our conservatory has started to leaf-out (the correct term says Google!)...... very early, along with local magnolia etc. Praise the Lord for every good gift!
Your random acts of kindness are good & make you feel better. But helping others to live fulfilling, fruitful lives takes time, effort, & sacrifice (Matt25:35-36)
