"our democracy" slogan repeaters once again take a hammer to one of the most load-bearing parts of a functioning republic: the confidence that voting is more than a sham
@Gabriel_Gratia I don't actually know Asmongold's stance on this but if you wanted to expose the inhumanity of the whole abortion industry you'd do it essentially like this, with euphemism-death
I assume he actually believes these things but its helpful that he says it the way he does.
The ancient Romans tried this form of Democracy early on, but later decided it was more reliable and generally saner to make political and military decisions based on chicken entrails
@Rutras3000@Technosaurian@BeardedHodl@MustacheCash101 Fair. I trust that your objections are so novel snd brilliant that 2000 years of Christian theologians had never even considered them. To say nothing of midrash
@Rutras3000@Technosaurian@BeardedHodl@MustacheCash101 Pascal basically points out that "Hey, these things are actually generally healthy, prosocial beliefs and practices, might as well believe in God too"
You're not being asked to drink vinegar. You're being called to live a good, well-ordered life by loving God.
@Rutras3000@Technosaurian@BeardedHodl@MustacheCash101 If the world is unfair and the only hope of it not being an eternity of misery is to drink a bottle of vinegar a day, you're not gonna change it by not drinking the vinegar. You're just gonna suffer forever
@Technosaurian@Rutras3000@BeardedHodl@MustacheCash101 I mean, you're misguided, but if you believe that then I don't see why you would also want to get on His bad side. This isn't a repressive government, you aren't a martyr for the cause. Hell is not a political statement.
@Rutras3000@BeardedHodl@MustacheCash101@Technosaurian Heaven isn't abour being good its about wanting a relationship, being in communion, with God eternally. If you don't believe in God then you don't want that relationship.
God gives you every second of your life to decide you want it. He's not gonna drag you kicking & screaming
@namename46528@MustacheCash101 If all good things come from God (they do) then choosing to live without Him when you could live with Him takes advantage of the good things He offers in the hopes you'll come back. Hell is lack of God and therefore lack of anything good
almost every city in the country now sits atop a system in which a minority of highly-productive young people are expected to work away their best years around the clock, just to cover rent, while giving away half their income to crazy people, criminals, and bureaucrats.
