120 Yrs after Sir J. C. Bose invention of mmWaves (EM), his milestone invention is recognized by IEEE and is responsible for realization of 5G and beyond . Bose let that idea freely available. While the other person working on similar kind patented the design itself.

2. Join the Volunteer Compute Movement
Many colleges already have valuable computing infrastructure that remains underutilized.
By contributing existing campus compute resources to a volunteer compute network, institutions can directly accelerate India’s AI capabilities while giving students hands-on exposure to AI infrastructure.
2/4 One question that came up:
“How can academia contribute to India’s AI journey?”
My answer was simple. There are three powerful ways:
1. Contribute Data from the Grassroots
India’s biggest AI opportunity lies in capturing the diversity of our people, languages, cultures, and local contexts.
Students and institutions can help create representative datasets that reflect the real India—from villages and small towns to urban centers.
1/4 Honored to speak at a fireside chat during the Convocation of #ProjectDrona2 organized by @HYSEAOfficial, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), @TechMahindra, and @Infosys Springboard.
Great interacting with 150+ academics, educators, and researchers on a topic I deeply believe in: Building #AI4India.
A special thanks to @saivram for being an excellent host. I was particularly inspired to learn about his literary roots and his family’s contributions to Telugu language and culture.

Tencent just killed the "next-token" paradigm 🤯
Tencent and Tsinghua University just released Continuous Autoregressive Language Models (CALM).
Current LLMs are bottlenecked because they must predict every single word piece one by one.
CALM predicts "next-vectors" that encapsulate entire chunks of meaning at once.
Each step now carries 4x the information, slashing training compute by 44%.
I've created a @Wikipedia page listing works from #India entering the #PublicDomain in 2026, to bring more visibility and awareness to Public Domain works from India.

To all the media reaching out to me: good that you saw this… you should cover it. I’m American, and an investor (Huawei is not publicly traded and my own government banned me from owning SMIC), so if I can see this, you have no excuse.
To those reading this and wondering why you don’t see this in your regular news cycle: ask yourself why
Hard to believe that Com @SitaramYechury is no more. A man of the masses and little less known detail among many of his contributions, he was also an ardent supporter of the FoSS paradigm and helped shape its future in India through public policy and nurturing movements! #sitaramyechury
1/8. Most Indians see the Big Fat Indian Wedding as a national achievement and are not put off by it, according to TV commentary, including on BBC. Really? Did BBC, anyone, do a poll/survey of most Indians? People hit the streets for what they see as a national achievement – like to greet the returning T20 world cup winning team. Anyone seen Mumbaikars dancing on the streets to celebrate the Ambani wedding? #ambaniwedding #psainath
