I understand where you’re coming from, but I think you also need to see the difference between a service platform and a job role... they are not the same thing at all.

And honestly, when we talk about "underpricing ourselves," it’s not only about devs or big accounts. The truth is, most times it starts from within ourselves, Small accouns and newbies.

Let me share a few real experiences:
One dev once told me he could only pay $10 for a whole week of raiding with a 10 man team. At first I was shocked 😅, then I later found out the reason was because the previous raider he worked with had accepted that same deal. Imagine? If that person hadn’t undervalued himself, the dev wouldn’t have seen that as the "normal price" for Nigerians.

Another time, I was offered $10 per week for a moderator role. I declined, but later I saw someone I know take that same offer. Situations like this are exactly why we end up being undervalued in this space.

So if we’re calling out KOLs and big accounts/Influences, we also need to call out the small accounts and newbies accepting crumbs, because that’s where the real problem lies. How can 10 people raid for an entire week for just $10? That’s madness 😅.

And it’s not just raiding. I’ve seen communities with 10 moderators working for free just for PoW. I even asked one of them why, and he told me he only needed the proof of work to show. Meanwhile, in that same project, the dev was paying a foreigner properly.

This is the real issue: many newbies are onboarding other newbies, and because they’re hungry for positions or desperate for PoW, they accept anything. That’s why devs continue to undervalue Nigerians... not because we don’t have value, but because too many people here have already set the price low for us all.
