The pandemic has continued to show us that the world is not standardized. Our students don’t live or operate in a standardized world. We can’t standardize them.
Research indicates that most standards documents articulate far more content than can be taught in the time available. That's why we've created a focused set of critical concepts for each K–12 grade level.

Please don’t prepare my 9th grader for 10th grade. Don’t prepare my 10th grader for 11th grade. Meet them where they are now. Recognize their strengths, foster a connection...they will do the rest.
The camera on one of my student’s computer was broken today. Every three minutes he would unmute and say “I’m still here even if you can’t see me...don’t forget me!” Blessings during stressful times!
Sending a shoutout out to not just all the educators doing such amazing & courageous work but let’s ensure all the support staff & classified staff right there alongside us do not ever get left out on the thank you’s & comments of courageous efforts! Thank you to you all!!!
I think we have entered an interesting new chapter in education where it will be the norm to maintain a number staff who operate virtually to help amplify learning opportunities. We will be more able to individualize & optimize learning environments & opportunities for students
With students not having been to school in person for significant amounts of time & the impact this has had, I think its time to rethink the opportunities for social interaction & play at all levels. Lets provide uninterrupted intentional time for play, lunch & social interaction
I am so proud of our Fred Lynn teacher @TheMrStoryShow who has done this every year!!! Its for a great cause - mens health , men dying too young - I will be once again getting right behind him! #FLHornets
