9/ Filling a gap
Is the project filling some kind of need that's missing in the market?
Is this niche something that I think will make my investment worthwhile?
8/ Gut
Still something that I rely on. There's just so many projects and sometimes I'll just rely on my gut on whether to make the purchase.
My golden rule is never looking back (so I don't stab myself for making the wrong decision)
7/ Transparency
Not a make or break point, but I'd definitely prefer if there's more transparency from the team.
I understand that projects still want flexibility for movement but timely updates is always appreciated.
It reduces FUD.
6/ Contract
I'll read the contract before minting. It matters to me that the team has spent effort on the contract (shoutout to azuki).
How the mint works, the minting experience, the site and whether the contract is vetted are key things I'd look at.
5/ Collaborations
Who the team collaborates with matters. It gives you a good sensing of how the first batch of minters will behave. Are they flippers or are they holders that only sell at a higher price (let's be real, there's always a price you'd sell)
4/ Art
My no.1 importance on the list. I need to vibe with the art. I NEED to love it. It doesn't matter if it has every other box ticked. If all else fails it needs to look pretty as a brick in my wallet.
3/ Team's Ethos
Through their activity and approach, you can understand team's vision. From how they treat their mods, how they handle WL, how they treat their community, etc.
If they are doing ok pre-mint, good chance they will follow-through post-mint.
2/ Team's history
Note that I didn't say doxxed. There are teams that have good historical success that reduces my risk if I buy into the project.
Esp for people who don't have high liquidity, you'd want to be picky on the few projects you can go into.
