Sukkot is a joyful holiday, and I was honored to celebrate that joy with our neighbors in Crown Heights this past week.
As Jewish communities across New York celebrate Shmini Atzeret and Simchat Torah this week, I wish you you all a Chag Sameach!
We have a duty to take care of our police officers after their service.
I am proud to sign legislation that fixes inequities in their pensions and that reflect our appreciation for their work keeping New Yorkers safe.
Tomorrow, we will hold a major @NYCCouncil hearing on the potential dangers of rapidly advancing AI technology and what we as a Council can do to protect New Yorkers.
If you’re a member of the public and you want to participate, you can sign up below to testify either virtually or in-person at City Hall: https://t.co/y1fQHzdZuj
New York is a city of more than 700 languages and every New Yorker deserves to be heard in their native tongue.
With support from the City Council, @thenyic's Community Interpreter Bank connects immigrant New Yorkers with trained interpreters from their own communities for help accessing housing, health care, schools and more.
The Council hosted Sukkot at City Hall this week with our very own Sukkah.
Council Members joined New Yorkers in holding the etrog (citron fruit) and shaking the lulav (palm frond) in every direction, representing the unity of the Jewish people with the four species.
Chag Sukkot Sameach to all who celebrate!
"Basically, 80% of Americans cross party lines, everything: Republicans, Democrats, Independents, they say elected officials shouldn't be allowed to trade stocks. Who does not want to go along with that? Elected officials, right? And there's obvious reasons for that. I'm one of the few people who think they should trade stocks, because I want to mirror what they're doing, basically."
Senate is gone til after Midterms, and left without getting the SAVE America Act done, voting down the Insider Stock Trading Ban to do it. Our panel weighs in @RealChrisBob@GothamGovt

"This was solely about CNN and CBS News, and ensuring that yes, they slant to the left, so ensuring that there was still some of those news that they were going to maintain, kind of the you know the product that they put out. That's basically what this was all about."
California AG Rob Bonta says the Paramount case was a "meat and potatoes" antitrust settlement. Our panelists disagree

From the Embassy of Israel, we wish everyone Gmar Chatima Tova and an easy and meaningful fast.
We will be signing off for the duration of Yom Kippur, but we look forward to returning soon to share the spirit and stories of Israel with you.
G’mar Chatima Tova 🙏✡️
May you be sealed for a good year.
Wishing all of our Jewish family, friends, and colleagues a peaceful Yom Kippur. May you have a meaningful fast, a quiet day of reflection, and a healthy, blessed new year.

Peace is not simply the absence of war. It depends on the ability of societies to confront disagreement without violence, protect human rights and dignity, and keep dialogue open when tensions rise.
Today, conflict, displacement, discrimination, hate speech, backsliding on rights and polarization are fracturing communities and eroding trust.
On this #InternationalDayOfPeace, @UNESCO calls for greater investment in the institutions, skills and relationships that allow societies to address tensions before they turn into violence.
