Once again, we are looking at the amazing craftsmanship of Ancient Rome.
Just like people cannot believe how the pyramids were built 4,000 years ago with the conditions of that time and make up alien theories, the craftsmanship of this ring is just as unbelievable.
In Ancient Rome, there were no magnifying glasses or microscopes. It is believed that while making this ring, the craftsman may have used glass balls filled with water, which were like early lenses, to focus the light and make the tiny details easier to see. This could have helped him make the hair curls, crown details and facial features inside the ring very carefully.
The bust on the surface is not raised. It was carved negatively into the stone. Because the stone is transparent, when light passes through it from behind, the figure looks like a three-dimensional bust.
Ancient Roman craftsmen probably created this ring with a very patient rubbing and carving process that took months, maybe even years.
@hvyrbbrslv I had a similar issue lately, while working on my photos. But the error was just a random message and nothing indicating a relation to what's on the photo. Is there any official post about this?
