Late in the war King Aegon II secretly seizes Dragonstone.

Baela bravely mounts her young dragon, Moondancer. They engage Aegon II and his massive dragon, Sunfyre, in a brutal aerial duel.

Moondancer is killed and Baela is severely burnt but survives the crash.

She is taken prisoner by King Aegon II.
He threatens to execute her to force her grandfather, Lord Corlys Velaryon, into submission. She narrowly escapes death due to political maneuvers and the sudden murder of Aegon II.

After the war, she marries her cousin,
Alyn Velaryon (formerly Alyn of Hull),
who becomes the new Lord of the Tides.

They have a daughter named Laena.

Baela remains a fiercely independent and influential figure at court for the rest of her long life.

Cregan arrives at the capital at the end of the Dance of the Dragons and takes control of the city for six days.

He forces the 11-year-old King Aegon III to name him Hand of the King so he can legally dispense justice.

He serves as Hand of the King for only 24 hours.

He presides over the trials of 22 men accused of poisoning the previous king, Aegon II.

He personally beheads those who does not choose to "take the black" and join the Night's Watch including Lord Larys Strong.

Pact of Ice and Fire

Cregan Stark is the Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North during the House of the Dragon era. He is called "The Wolf of the North’.

At the start of the civil war, Rhaenyra’s son, Jacaerys Velaryon, flies to Winterfell to seek Cregan's help.

The two form a deep bond, leading to the "Pact of Ice and Fire," an agreement where a Targaryen princess was promised to marry into the Stark family in exchange for the North's military support.

**This pact never comes true till Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen’s or their parents’ era.
