Crew Module Uprighting System (CMUS) is designed to keep the CM upright while floating in the sea after splashdown.
It consists of inflation modules similar to balloons near the top of the CM inflated using gas stored in high pressure gas bottles.
The goal of this test was to test the inflation of the primary inflation module, the operation of the control valves and whether the inflation completes within the required amount of time.

𝟮. 𝗖𝗦𝗖𝗗𝗦 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲���𝘁
The Crew Module Service Module - Connect Disconnect System (CSCDS) is used to manage the umbilical connections between the CM and the Service Module (SM) through which electrical connections and the fluid lines of the life support system (ECLSS) pass b/w CM & SM.
The job of CSCDS is to ensure the umbilicals remain properly attached during the mission and to disconnect all umbilicals cleanly just before CM separation from SM prior to CM atmostpheric reentry.
This test consisted of a separation test of the umbilicals from a simulated CM to ensure clean separation and that the panels and interfaces on the CM do not suffer any damage from the separation mechanism.

𝟯. 𝗖𝗠 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗽𝗲𝘅 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀
The Apex Cover is a protective cover located at the top of the CM that protects the parachutes and CMUS underneath it. However in order for the parachutes to be deployed, the Apex Cover needs to be ejected out first, which is done using pyrotechnic devices.
The goal of this test was to validate that the CM does not suffer any damage due to the shock generated during the separation (recoil). During this test, the CM was subjected to loads 1.75x the amount generated by the separation event at pre-identified locations to check for deformations and strain on the CM, all of which were determined to be within design margins.

Dholera and Sanand in Gujarat, along with Bengaluru in Karnataka, are key locations for India's semiconductor ecosystem. These locations have been promoted heavily by the Government of India as India's semiconductor industrial hubs. Now, India wants to invest heavily to build its new domestic semiconductor ecosystem in the East, and Durgapur is carving out its niche in that mission. Durgapur already hosts a growing semiconductor research ecosystem led by CSIR-CMERI and NIT Durgapur. Research spans semiconductor design, MEMS, sensors, robotics and advanced electronics.

A semiconductor industrial hub is a cluster of facilities, research labs, and logistic infrastructure built around chip design and manufacturing. The planned city also hosts five WBIDC-managed industrial estates, accommodating numerous private manufacturing units and strengthening its industrial ecosystem. Combined with its research institutions, this gives Durgapur a solid foundation to attract future semiconductor and deep-tech investments.

The Kankinara Jute Mill in Barrackpore, which has remained closed since December 26, 2025, is set to resume operations from July 1, bringing relief to nearly 3000 workers who have been without work for around six months.

Two closed jute mills have already reopened under the state government’s initiative. Government of West Bengal has appealed to all stakeholders to maintain a cordial industrial atmosphere and work together to safeguard workers’ welfare while advancing the state’s industrial growth. The Alliance Mills (Lessee) Ltd. at Jagatdal in North 24 PGS reopened on June 17 after remaining shut for nearly six months. The Labour Department has already initiated measures and is hopeful that eight more closed jute mills in the state will reopen soon.

এ কোন সুরাবর্দি ?

গতকাল থেকে সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া খুললেই সুরাবর্দিকে নিয়ে যে তরজাটা চলছে , সেটা অত্যন্ত বিরক্তিকর। কারণ তাতে আবেগ আছে, অন্ধত্ব আছে, কিন্তু নেই যেটা, সেটা হচ্ছে তথ্য এবং যুক্তি। প্রথমেই বলে রাখি যে আমি ইতিহাসবিদ নই, কিন্তু হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ ইউনিভার্সিটির ছাত্রও যে নই! তাই চোখের সামনে এতগুলো ভুল তথ্য এতদিক থেকে এতবার বলা হচ্ছে যে চুপ করে থাকা বেশ মুশকিল হলো ।

ছোটবেলায় ইতিহাসের শিক্ষক শ্রদ্ধেয় কৃষ্ণাশিস গোস্বামী শিখিয়েছিলেন, ইতিহাসকে সব সময় দেখতে হয় নির্মোহ দৃষ্টিতে। কিন্তু মোহ বা মোহমুক্তি তো পরের কথা,আগে তো তথ্যটা ঠিক করতে হবে। আর এখানেই গোড়ায় গলদ বেঁধে বসে আছে ! সুরাবর্দি অ্যাভিনিউর নাম তো বদল হবে, সে হোক, কিন্তু ভদ্রলোক ছিলেন কে?

চিরকালই দেখেছি, বেশিরভাগ বাঙালি ভ্রমবশত মনে করে এসেছে, এই সুরাবর্দি হচ্ছেন Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy , যার দু‘হাতে সংশ��়াতীতভাবে ১৯৪৬-এর দাঙ্গার রক্ত লেগে আছে, যে পরিকল্পিত মারণযজ্ঞে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ব্যবস্থাপক সভার তৎকালীন বিরোধী সদস্য জ্যোতি বসুর হিসেবে অনুযায়ী, অন্তত কুড়ি হাজার মানুষের মৃত্যু হয়েছিল!

গতকাল রাস্তার নাম পরিবর্তনের খবর সামনে আসার পর বাজারে নামলেন আরেক দল বিশেষজ্ঞ যারা ‘ভাইপো‘-কে ছেড়ে কাকা-কে সামনে আনলেন। আর কে না জানে এই ক্যা-ক্যা-ছি-ছি-র রাজ্যে ভাইপো সম্পর্কিত কোনো কিছু, যে কোনও কিছুই একেবারে হট কেক!

Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy-র কাকা Hassan Suhrawardy ছিলেন শ্যামাপ্রসাদ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের আগের কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য, যাঁর মেয়াদকাল ছিল ১৯৩০ সালের ৮ই আগস্ট থ���কে ১৯৩৪ সালের ৭ই আগস্ট পর্যন্ত।

দুঃখের বিষয় হলো, এই কাকা-ভাইপো কারও নামেই সুরাবর্দি অ্যাভিনিউ-এর নামকরণ করা হয়নি। আমাদের দেশে বা রাজ্যে সাধারণত জীবিত মানুষের জীবদ্দশায় তাঁর নামে রাস্তার নামকরণ হয় না । এক্ষেত্রেও হয়নি । কারণ ১৯৩৩ সালে যখন পার্ক সার্কাসের পঞ্চম রাস্তাটির সুরাবর্দি অ্যাভিনিউ নামকরণের প্রস্তাব আসে, তখন Hassan Suhrawardy শুধু জীবিত ছিলেন তাই নয়, কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যের চেয়ারেও আসীন। আসলে এই রাস্তাটির নামকরণ হয় Hassan Suhrawardy-র বাবা Moulana Obaidullah Suhrawardy-র নামে। কলকাতা পুরসভার ৮ই মার্চ ১৯৩৩ খ্রিস্টাব্দের অধিবেশনে নবনির্মিত এই রাস্তাটির নাম সুরাবর্দি অ্যাভিনিউ রাখার এক প্রস্তাব আনেন সে সময়ের দাপুটে কাউন্সিলার এক ব্রাহ্মণসন্তান । তাঁর নাম শৈলেন্দ্রনাথ মুখোপাধ্যায়।

শৈলেন্দ্রনাথবাবুর সেই প্রস্তাবে বলা হয়েছিল - "That the new 100 feet Road constructed by the C.I.T. from Park Circus to the junction with Kasaipara Lane lying to the North of the park be called 'Suhrawardy Avenue'. He said that this should be in compliance with the unanimous desire of the local public and in recognition of the vast scholarship and erudition, deep piety and saintly character of the illustrious Moulana Obaidullah Suhrawardy."

আজকের এই উত্তপ্ত ও অগ্নিবর্ষী বিতর্কের মাঝে দাঁড়িয়ে মনে হচ্ছিল ভাগ্যিস অজিতকুমার বসু তাঁর দু‘খণ্ডের ‘কলিকাতার রাজপথ‘বইতে বিস্তারিতভাবে সেই প্রস্তাব সম্পর্কে লিখে গেছেন । অজিতবাবু লিখছেন, "১০০ ফুট চওড়া, পার্ক সার্কাস থেকে শুরু হয়ে কসাইপাড়া লেনের এবং পার্ক সার্কাস উদ্যানের উত্তরে এসে পড়েছে। পরে রাস্তাটি দরগা রোড পর্যন্ত প্রসারিত হয়েছিল। কলিকাতা পুরসভা ওই দিন (8.3.1933.) ওই প্রস্তাব অনুমোদন করেন। নতুন রাস্তা ‘সুরাবর্দি অ্��াভিনিউ’ নামে নামাঙ্কিত হয়। মৌলানা সুরাবর্দি ছিলেন সাধু প্রকৃতির, জাতি ধর্ম-নির্বিশেষে সকলেই তাঁকে শ্রদ্ধা ভক্তি করত। তাঁর পুত্রেরা সকলেই কৃতবিদ্য ছিলেন। তাঁরা হলেন স্যার আবদুল্লা সুরাবর্দি, স্যার হাসান সুরাবর্দি এবং মিস্টার মাসুম সুরাবর্দি।”

ব্যাস, ইতিহাসের ঝাঁপি এখানেই শেষ। বাকি রইল বিদ্বেষ আর বিষোদগার ।

ভেবে নিন কোন পথে যাবেন - ওই নির্মোহ ইতিহাসের অসমান পথ, নাকি হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ ইউনিভার্সিটির রাজপথ?

West Bengal plans to invest around ₹1,050 crore to upgrade three major government hospitals into superspecialty institutions: Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, North Bengal Medical College and Hospital and Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital. The proposal was reviewed at Nabanna as part of the state's next phase of healthcare expansion.

The upgrades aim to expand advanced treatment capacity beyond Kolkata, bringing more specialised services, modern equipment and stronger tertiary care infrastructure to all other districts of Bengal. The move could reduce patient load on Kolkata hospitals while improving access for millions across the state.
