Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch.
President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.
This should be a national scandal: Today, the LA County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution asking the state to suspend various legal protections for property owners in burned areas—their right to build a duplex or ADU, to reasonable permit timelines, and more.
“Public outreach” in local government is one of the worst ideas ever
The selection effects are mind-boggling
Perfectly conceived to bring the weirdest, loudest, wrongest cranks out of the woodwork while ignoring normal people
You’re better off asking a Ouija Board
Incredible contradictions last night.
Locally, @streetsforall candidates swept in Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Culver City. Our candidates also won in CD10 and CD14. Incredible mandate for change and progress.
Nationally, I don’t have words. Many of our major regional transportation priorities will put on ice for 4 years. And of course, that’s the least of it. 🤦♂️
Anyone talking about the housing crisis without calling it what it is — a shortage caused in significant part by extreme over-regulation — isn’t serious about actually ending the crisis.
BIG HOUSING NEWS!
@GavinNewsom just signed our bill (SB 1037) to create stronger enforcement when cities refuse to follow state housing laws.
Current law creates little accountability when this happens. No longer. When we pass laws to help end CA’s housing shortage, we mean it.
"I will only accept 100% affordable housing" means you believe we should only build subsidized housing
...which means we'll build a lot less total housing
...which means land values will rise faster
...which means we'll also build less 100% affordable housing.

oh my god Obama just said “We need to build more housing units, and get rid of the outdated regulations that have made it harder to build”
DEMOCRATS ARE NOT GOING BACK TO NIMBY POLICIES
"There’s a serious housing shortage. It’s too difficult to build, & it’s driving prices up. We will take down barriers & cut red tape including at the state & local levels. We will end America's housing shortage by building 3,000,000 new homes."
Kamala just went full YIMBY!
Wow @GovKathyHochul we sang your praises for your leadership on congestion pricing.
With the equipment *already in the ground* after more than a decade of work, you pull this political stunt?
Shameful.

Paris definitely wasn’t always this way. This is very recent. It wasn’t magic. It just took a clear vision, and real leadership. Your city could choose leadership too.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.
ALL ROAD USERS.
And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them.
