Thank you for your patience.
Roads across Arkansas continue to be dangerous as we experience more winter weather today.
Please stay home if you can but if you have to travel, stay alert and drive slow.
Ice is a different challenge than snow, but ARDOT crews are working as hard as possible to prepare for the incoming weather.
When winter weather hits, remember to check https://t.co/l1xGNNTado for the latest conditions in your area.
Winter weather is on the way, and ARDOT is already preparing. When temperatures drop, pre-treating roads isn't just routine - it's strategy. Deric Wyatt breaks down how we're getting ready to keep Arkansas moving safely through the cold.
Emergency bridge closure near Gurdon:
As of Thursday, 1/8, the McNeeley Creek bridge on Highway 51 southwest of Gurdon was closed following a routine bridge inspection. It will remain closed around the clock until further notice.
Check @IDriveArkansas for the latest.
After being installed for only a week and a half, both sets of our 5-foot-tall wire mesh "Litter Letters" are completely filled with trash that was picked up by ARDOT crews - a stark reminder of how much litter we combat every single day along our highways.
CLOSURE ON I-555:
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 18, there will be an outside lane closure on Interstate 555 south near mile marker 18 (between Marked Tree and Payneway). See the news release for more details.
Thank you, Kiwanis Club of Gravette, for inviting us to speak today. Philip Taldo, Chairman of the Arkansas Highway Commission, made a pit stop to share the latest on ARDOT as well as the current or upcoming projects in the area. We are always grateful for the opportunity.
