If you’ve been defrauded, report the account on GoWaly and contact your bank or financial institution through its verified official channels.

If you talk about what happened online, don’t post the transaction details or other identifiers that could help a fraudster target you.

They may pretend to be your bank, a fintech, the police, or a “recovery agent.”

But they’re actually fraudsters too.

Recovery scammers look for people who have already been defrauded and try to scam them a second time.

Here is how to spot one 👇🏾

They contact you first 🚩
They promise to recover your money 🚩
They ask for a “recovery” or “processing” fee 🚩
They request your OTP, PIN, password or login details 🚩
They use an account that looks official but has a slightly different handle, number🚩
