WALK-OFF GRAND SALAMI!

Whitman rallied from down 4-0 in the 8th to sweep Saturday’s doubleheader on a walk-off grand slam by @NatePetz. Their second walk-off win of the day.

Trailing 4-0 in the 8th, the Blues got on the board with a @HalenOtte5150 sac fly and an RBI single from Nick Teng. In the ninth, @LMalzewski brought home a run on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch. Four pitches later, @NatePetz crushed the walk-off grand slam to complete the sweep.

@OBrown907 started and went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) with 4 strikeouts. @JackFinn51 picked up the win in relief, tossing 3.1 innings while allowing 1 run and punching out 6.

Jonah Chang (@JonahChang9) hit a solo homer — his 4th of the season — to cap a three-run inning, then delivered the walk-off single in the 11th as @gowhitman won a wild 10-9 game in 11 innings.

Halen Otte (@HalenOtte5150) launched a 2-run homer (his 8th) in the 4th and came through with a game-tying 2-run single in the ninth to help @gowhitman win a wild 10-9 thriller in 11 innings.

Whitman took a wild 10-9 win over Willamette in 11 innings in the series opener.

Trailing 6-4 in the ninth, @HalenOtte5150 tied the game with a 2-run single (he also hit a 2-run homer in the 4th).

After Willamette scored three runs in the top of the 11th, a run-scoring error and an RBI double from @sam19416 set up @JonahChang9 — who also homered earlier — for the walk-off single.

@russellpete_ started and went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs while striking out 6.

Down to their final strike and trailing by a run, Noah Braunel delivered his first collegiate home run at the perfect moment — launching a 3-run shot to walk it off for @gowhitman 21-19.

The walk-off blast capped an 8-run ninth for the Blues in the thrilling comeback victory.

At @gowhitman we strive to prepare our student athletes for real world experience. Last week, our guys went through Life Skills day, an event where different groups around our community volunteer to teach our athletes to tackle different “life skills.”
