NITI Aayog convened a meeting under the chairpersonship of Dr. M. Srinivas, Member, NITI Aayog, to deliberate on the proposed Mentorship Framework for Students Belonging to Vulnerable Sections in Higher Education.
The proposed framework envisions mentorship as a structured institutional support system to help students navigate socio-emotional, academic, and career-related challenges while promoting equitable access, holistic development, and improved learning outcomes across Higher Education Institutions.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from NITI Aayog, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the University Grants Commission, and leading academicians from IIM Lucknow, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Banaras Hindu University, and Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
By fostering meaningful mentorship and stronger institutional support, the initiative aims to create a more inclusive higher education ecosystem where every student has equitable access and opportunity to engage, learn, and succeed, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
