Spent an evening learning from one of Coimbatore's finest business leaders — Mr. Vikram Mohan, Chairman of the Pricol Group.
The session, organized by CMA and IIF, wasn't about numbers or profits alone.
It was about building an organization that lasts.
Some lessons that stayed with me:
• Innovation isn't optional. Nearly 40% of Pricol's white-collar workforce is in R&D, continuously working on the future.
• People-first leadership works. Mr. Vikram shared how he and his wife personally visited employees' homes to understand their financial and family challenges. No surprise that attrition at the top and middle management has remained almost nil for a decade.
• A supportive family is a business asset. Despite everyone being involved in business, they consciously avoid discussing work at home—creating space for family.
• Before starting any new venture, they prepare a "failure playbook"—listing everything that could go wrong and addressing those risks upfront.
• Their philosophy is simple:
Be among the Top 3 in the industry within 3 years.
Give it 2 more years if needed.
If it still doesn't work, move on.
• Sustainability isn't just a buzzword:
100% renewable energy, zero-discharge operations, no plastic usage, and no dependence on corporation water.
• Perhaps the biggest lesson:
Great companies don't just build products. They build people, culture, and trust.
Thank you, CMA and IIF, for organizing such an insightful session. It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Vikram Mohan and learning from his entrepreneurial journey.

Have holdings in delivery and at the same time sell out of the money call option. You have holdings and at the same time if there is no upside, we get an income from call.
Just google or check varsity.
I am happy making few thousands from the CE every month but same time sad since shares prices are not moving up!
Same here. Never left a cc unpaid fully after card statement generation.
I used a cc recently to buy a car 🚗 !
May be giving you an idea since you are planning to buy one !
Here's my credit card strategy:
1) Buy only things that I will pay off completely once the credit card bill is generated
2) Pay off completely once the credit card bill is generated
The end.
A Game Changer for First-Time Investors?
One of the biggest reasons people don't start investing isn't lack of money.
It's confusion.
❓Large Cap or Flexi Cap?
❓Active or Passive?
❓Equity or Debt?
❓Gold?
❓How much allocation should I have?
Too many choices often lead to no action.
That's why I am excited about the newly introduced Life Cycle Funds.
The idea is simple:
🎯 Choose the year you need the money (say 2036 or 2041)
💰 Start investing through SIP or lump sum
🔄 The fund automatically manages and rebalances the allocation between Equity, Debt, Gold, Silver, REITs, etc.
📈 More equity when your goal is far away
🛡️ More conservative allocation as your goal approaches
No need to constantly decide:
"Should I switch funds?"
"Should I reduce equity?"
"Should I rebalance?"
The fund does it for you.
What I like:
✅ Goal-based investing
✅ Diversification in one fund
✅ Automatic rebalancing
✅ SIP friendly
✅ Index-based approach keeps costs lower
✅ Ideal for first-time investors
This concept has been hugely successful in the US through Target Date Funds.
I believe it can help bring many new investors into mutual funds in India.
Sometimes the biggest obstacle to wealth creation is not lack of returns.
It's complexity.
And simplicity wins.

One talk. One entrepreneur. Years later, one unexpected opportunity.
Yesterday was a market holiday.
Instead of tracking the markets, I travelled to Tiruppur to conduct my flagship "Road to Financial Freedom" workshop for 40+ employees of Udhay Exports.
Here's the interesting part.
This opportunity wasn't created yesterday.
Several years ago, I had delivered a Personal Finance Awareness session to a group of entrepreneurs.
Among them was the owner of Udhay Exports, Mr. Hariharan.
He remembered that session and recently invited me to educate his employees.
That reminded me of something important:
Good work compounds—just like good investments.
One question people often ask is:
"Why should companies conduct personal finance sessions for employees?"
Because salary alone doesn't create financial security.
Financial awareness does.
An employee who understands:
• How money flows
• How to save correctly
• How to choose the right insurance
• How to invest for goals
• How to use credit cards responsibly
• How to avoid unnecessary debt
...is likely to make better financial decisions for themselves and their family.
One reality I've observed over the years:
Too many people learn about money from someone trying to sell them a financial product.
The result?
Products are often bought before financial knowledge.
I believe it should be the other way around.
Financial education first. Products later.
Knowledge helps people make decisions based on their goals—not someone else's commission.
A heartfelt thanks to the management of #UdhayExports for believing that employee financial wellness matters.
If even one family starts investing, avoids unnecessary debt, or achieves a financial goal because of yesterday's session, it was worth every kilometre travelled.
If your company is looking to conduct a practical, unbiased Personal Finance Awareness Program for employees, feel free to DM me.
Let's build financially confident workplaces, one session at a time.

I also got the benefit being a shareholder. But who goes all the way to Mumbai to get treated!
Btw, KMCH hospitals from Coimbatore used to give same kind of vouchers till few years back.
Perks of being a share holder!
If you own even 1 share of #Reliance Industries, check your registered email right now.
The dividend intimation email has a hidden coupon attached — up to 25% off on lab tests, MRI/CT scans, dental, LASIK and more at HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai.
Valid for 1 year. Most people never open that email.
Owning stocks has perks nobody tells you about. 🧵
