The @gpe_ngo final project closing and learning event ended in Freetown today. It highlighted the project's achievements, challenges and lessons learnt. The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education reflected on the unique NGO-Consortium Partnership with government.

By the time of COVID-19 school closures, the Gov't of #SierraLeone had already revamped the Radio Teaching Program & scaled it nationwide with appropriate sensitization. We'd learned from our ebola experience & with partners provided radio sets to 70,000+ targeted pupils/teachers
The GPE-NGO Consortium collaborates with the Office of the First Lady HE Fatima Madaa Bio to campaign for inclusive, gender sensitive and safe learning opportunities for all boys and girls in Sierra Leone.

The NGO Consortium trains community volunteers on how to facilitate Learning Circles which will be used to develop literacy and numeracy for all boys and girls. Learning circles have been etsablished in 10 districts, the intervention will reach all 16 districts.
