Had dinner with the legend that is Carlo Pernat at Misano. He told me if MM leaves Honda before the end of his contract he will retire. "To be a rider manager now is impossible. You work for four months to make a contract and after... In the past you made a contract and the contract was the contract. Now you make a contract & riders and factories change halfway through. For me, it's bullshit." He does have a point 📸 @GoldandGoose
There is more behind an airbox intake. Here we see how @KTM_Racing uses tubes for local additional cooling (ECU) and fill in low pressure regions. @GPMag_@matoxley@motomatters
We all know that @ApriliaOfficial wouldn't have been where they are now without @AleixEspargaro but lets not forget neither the riders he stood with on the podium. He was the 1 who convinced the factory to take MV & the one who helped JM when he couldn't afford becoming a rider.
So I tried again to photo the #MotoGP scrutineers checking tyre pressures according to the new rules. I stood in pit lane, not in the scrutineering bay. I was told to go away & then had the Dorna heavies threaten me. What is a MotoGP fan to make of this? Cos these are the people who matter. Dorna/FIM want to do these basic checks behind closed doors, so how can these checks be trusted? Front tyre pressure is 100% vital to performance now, it's no minor detail. So are the rules actually being adhered to or are they being fixed while no one is watching? It's such an idiotic system. Transparency is all: the scrutineers & stewards need to PROVE to fans that they are doing everything correctly. There are so many things wrong with MotoGP right now that can easily be fixed by a bit of thought & intelligence 😢😢😢
Respect to Piaggio CEO Roberto Colaninno who died today & had a minute's silence on the sprint grid in his honour. But this was the guy I was really thinking of
