Thousands of arrows. Hundreds of practice hours. Countless miles traveled.
Now she'll wear the red, white, and blue on the world stage. 🇺🇸
We're incredibly proud.
Drop a 🎯 or 🇺🇸 to wish Sydney good luck!

What makes this even more remarkable?
While competing at the highest levels of archery, Sydney has also excelled academically through honors, AP, and dual-enrollment courses while pursuing her dream of becoming an engineer.
Excellence isn't an accident.

Going through being raped or molested at a young age changes you. It makes you grow up way too fast. Some people end up struggling with trust, with love, with sex, with fear. Some build walls so high nobody can get in, and others do whatever they can just to feel loved—because that safety, that protection, that care… it was missing when it mattered most.
When someone hurts you like that—especially someone who was supposed to love you—you’re left trying to understand something that never made sense. You question yourself. You carry blame that was never yours to hold. Or, like me, you try to bury it, push it down, pretend it didn’t happen just to get through the day.
But the truth is, it stays with you in different ways. I feel things deeply. I love hard. I get hurt easy. Some days are heavier than others.
And yeah, maybe this is TMI for some people—but I’m not ashamed of my story.
I am a survivor. 🌻
It had been nearly two years since Sydney last shot a 3D animal, and this weekend she jumped back in at her first TN S3DA regional. She shook off the rust and got back out there!
Even though she wasn’t completely satisfied with her score, she stayed consistent, didn’t lose a single arrow, and pushed through. In the end, she pulled off a 1st place finish and kicked off the season the right way. Proud of her effort and excited for what’s ahead!
Senior Sunday feels a little extra special this week.
The end of 2023 and beginning of 2024 were tough. She was in PT for her shoulder, and between that and other challenges, she developed competition anxiety. For an archer, that can feel overwhelming.
But she didn’t quit.
Over the last two years, she has put in the work — physically and mentally. She rebuilt her strength. She rebuilt her confidence. She even took a short break to focus on academics and Governor’s School, continuing to grow in every area of her life.
This weekend, all of that hard work showed.
She competed at the S3DA Eastern Indoor Nationals in Owensboro and brought home SILVER.
Then she competed at the USA Archery Tennessee State Championship at Carson-Newman University, where she placed 1st AND broke the Tennessee state record for U21 Female Barebow.
Her resilience, grit, and determination mean more than any medal ever could. Watching her fight through adversity and come back stronger has been one of the greatest blessings of being her mom.
Senior year is showing just how strong she truly is. So incredibly proud of this girl. ❤️🏹
